3 Reasons I believe Worley will be solid:

1) Butch decides what the media/fans see in fall camp.

We are 100% certain he uses the media as a reward/motivation tool for his players. Don't you think he understands how else to use the media to his advantage? Managing expectations is huge in every industry, college football is no different.

I'm not suggesting he's having Worley dog it in front of the media. Just remember they are not running quick slants across the middle. They are running red-zone plays on day 6 of camp against what seems to be some sick cornerbacks.

2) He improved a lot last year. His UGA & USC games were good enough that he put is in a position to win both games. If he started this year where he left off pre-injury, I'd be excited.

3) Word out of the Manning Camp from multiple reports was that he was a much better QB than last year. Swain & Ainge leaked after the first practice that he was a different QB.... but suddenly in the 20 minutes the media sees he sucks? Hmmm, I don't buy it.

According to Hubbs, Malone has hit the proverbial "freshman wall". Hubbs said when Malone is running routes vs. air, he's not understanding if he can get better. However, when it's a competitive drill or you line someone up in front of him, Josh has been automatic. He creates seperation and he doesn't drop the ball.

Hubbs compared it to North last year. Marquez wasn't sure what he could gain from running air routes. Same with Josh. Not a good complete practice player right now. When the lights go on, he's something serious.

And Malone didn't get dropped from the 2 deep lol they are rotating bodies. Josh Smith has had a great Fall Camp thus far and they are rewarding him.

:good!:

I would imagine the QB's don't look very accurate because they're installing brand new pieces of the play book every single day and our players haven't had a chance to settle in yet. Chill. Things will click. And when they do, we probably won't immediately look like Oregon anyways, so maybe we can just enjoy watching this incredibly young team develop slowly and cheer them on.

I am really pulling for Josh Smith this year. Standout kid from what I've heard and he is working his butt off. I understand what happened last year with him having the drop bug. But, I think he turns it around this year and makes some good plays.

Next year with North and Malone and P Williams and Von Pearson will be nasty! ...*looks at QB roster* oh nevermind.

Makes sense to me.

I don't get the Malone firestorm on here either. The kid was lights out all spring and in the spring game. We know he's a high character guy already.

He'll be fine.

You're either accurate or not. It's apparent that none of them are accurate.

There's been plenty said about the quarterbacks this week and most of it hasn't been positive. The truth is that the quarterbacks didn't start off the way this coaching staff had hoped or expected and they certainly still aren't there. However, they have made some strides and as Jones has said, the quarterbacks don't have to be game ready today. But don't look for the head coach to let up or offer many compliments on his signal callers.

Some good points. But, if you can't take the limited video evidence in camp so far over his Manning camp performance as proof of his quality of play, I don't see how you can take the Manning Camp performance as proof over his perfromance from last year, which came behind a great pass blocking O-line but still wasn't very good.

If you believe that Josh Malone has been dropped from the 2-Deep, then you also must believe that AJ Johnson will not play much this year since he hasn't been getting many reps in live action in practice.

Give me a break.

In my eyes nothing much has changed since before camp opened. We will see a improved team but with schedule, questions regarding youth, line play ( both sides ) and the possibility of inconstancy at the QB position we will probably be a 7-6 team with a bowl win. I'm not sure what has changed?

This is what yall arent understanding.

Im not putting faith in the videos. Im just simply posting observations. It doesnt change my perception of the team. Im saying the QBs looked bad in the videos because they looked bad. Im saying Malone doesnt look like hes giving it his all because he doesnt even try to catch some of the balls. Thats also the reason he ended up in the hole.

Its like saying, "oh, Pearson made a nice catch".

Its just observations

Well, let that be a lesson to you about making observations.

I remember the SCe game differently.

It was a great finish and he played well enough to win that game. But let's not rewrite history based on results rather than process. It was his highwater mark for the season, excluding games against much inferior opponents. His rating for that game, carried out over a full season, would've ranked him 115th in FBS last year. His closest comparisons are Case McCoy (Tex) and Brandon Allen (Ark).

I'm not here to tear him down at all. I think UT's best chance probably comes with him at QB. But, I can't ignore the evidence that he is just not that strong a QB.

Just my opinion
