With all the Peterman talk at QB, decided to watch the first half at UF again.

Brutal to watch. 6 possessions, 5 total pass yards, 4 TOs.

7 TOs in the first half combined. That's gotta be a record.

Just got to trust the coaches and let this one play out.

I'm pretty sure that I could have put up those stats, and I've never played quarterback in my life.

I really do hope he gets a chance to redeem himself at some point.

He struggled in all his appearances last year to one degree or another. I remember cringing in the second half of the APSU game, wondering why in the world we only scored three points. Last year he had the body language of a guy who woke up late on final exam day and realized he forgot to study.

My word... this is spot on. :eek:lol:

usu first day in pads

Overall, the Aggies' defense recorded eight tackles for loss, three sacks, two quarterback hurries and one pass breakup during skeleton work and live drills.

"As a head coach, you have to be happy for the defense," said second-year head coach Matt Wells. "They were really stout in every drill today. The offense has to come out and respond on Monday. The defense sure responded. I was pleased with the offense for four days, they were making good progress, but they took a step backwards today. It's not a major crisis, but they need to respond on Monday."

I wouldn't mind seeing this starting front 4.

DE Curt Maggit
DT Saulsberry
DT O'Brien
DE Derek Barnett

and then you have Vereen, Jordan Willliams etc as back ups. The D-Line should be much improved

You'll see Barnett start at DE at least one game this season. He's in the rotation at least now and all it takes is one rolled ankle by Vereen or Maggit to sit them out for a week or two and then Barnett is the guy.

As for DT, it's early and they've been rotating a lot but everything reported makes it seem that Jordan Williams and O'brien are the starters at DT at the moment.

A lot of who the "starter" is could depend on matchups as well. It wouldn't surprise me if they're giving our more athletic DTs more reps early because our first 3 opponents are apread teams and not lower run teams. The bigger guys like Saulsberry and Sawyers will probably see less action at least in those first two games. We'll be in nickel and Dime packages all day for those first two games.

I want 14 to perform lights out SOOOOO much. But like BB just said regarding Young, I'll believe it when I see it.

However, I think we will get a nice little bit out of Devrin this year.

I was pretty impressed with Young against Mississippi State in 2012. I thought he showed good promise in that game. If Scott passes Young that only means good things for this team, but I would love to see Young ball out his last year and have a really good year. Wouldn't mind seeing what Scott can do returning kicks.

I think you'll see a lot of Barnett and maybe Hendrix in short yardage and other obvious rushing situations.

There was a video a few practices ago of some run blocking scrimmages and to me it looks like Hendrix was better able to hold at the point of attack against a 300+ lb OL. Maggit did alright but he's surrendering a lot of weight to those guys.
