I don't disagree. What we are saying is that Michigan just went through two coaches like we had. Imagine the reaction after Dooley if we hired a coach with an 8-12 record after two years at his current job

This. I also believe Butch truly likes it here. Ann Arbor has a special place in CFB history, but I don't see him ready to give up on Rocky Top. If he can conquer the SEC his legacy is complete with only the NFL left to consider. If things get testy around here he can still land a good B10 gig at some point. With all that he has done in the rebuild, and with Hart aware that he needs to open the checkbook when he takes the next step, I can't see him going if it was even offered.

IMO, Butch's comment is strong enough to lessen the speculation a bit and protect the interests of the team, while leaving a crack for contract negotiations

Butch was raised up in a family that had a parent that was a high ranking police officer. He most likely learned some of his approach to the news media from his father. A good police chief tells the media what they want them to know and protects what is important to their case. When Butch talks about a player's health that's kind of what he's doing. In Butch's statement he's saying they (the media) should know he wants to be at Tennessee and the rumor is not worth wasting time talking about.

Wow. I hope he doesn't have to use that same kind of judgment in his job. He's not like a surgeon or anything, is he?

Our last two bowl games haven't helped either. I was at both of them. I learned a when I was little not to talk ish until after we won the game.

Only VolNation can take this quote and see negative in it. Good grief.

He obviously meant he was not interested in going to Michigan.

Only thing he can do to put those rumors to rest is to sign an extension or for Michigan to hire somebody else.

After Saban, nothing any coach says is gonna be good enough.

This...

What did you people want him to say? You say he should have explicitly stated that he isn't going to Michigan, and then you note that his word actually means nothing anyway because of Saban's quote prior to being hired at Alabama. So you were apparently going to be griping regardless of his answer.

On the other hand, I am disappointed that Kerbyson is moving back to tackle. He's had a rough time as a tackle. He's arguably our best lineman as a guard. So not sure of the logic there. But whatever... we'll see how it works out on Saturday. It's very possible that Dobbs' presence will make the Kerby/Jackson/Crowder/Robertson/Gilliam squad look pretty decent too.

First picture is of Worley handing the ball off..so I guess he's practicing? If that's the case I wouldn't be surprised if he played Saturday. Anybody heard anything on VQ/247?
