I haven't seen him play much on D, just kick returns when/if they kick to him. Anyway, teams are learning to put their best WR's in the slot against Coleman. He's getting beat a lot. Need someone better and faster there, just figured EB would be a good option at the Nickel.
Maybe. I think it is more important to start working match-ups on both sides of the ball. Jake started doing that better since Dobbs took over because he knows the decision making will be quick and if not there he is running. Jancek seems to have regressed. It was real obvious early versus Bama when they would not isolate Sutton on Cooper with safety help over the top. When they adjusted the coverage it went well. It was real obvious again against USCe when they had Coleman covering the slot no matter who it was - so Stevie used Cooper II there a bunch. Decisions like those are hurting the D. Evan's recovery speed is definitely better, but Cooper I and Cooper II would probably school him pretty good.
I also agree with a lot of folks on here. Would rather go with TKJr. over either of the two guys we have back there. He has great upside and instincts even though he will mess up occasionally due to inexperience. Our veteran safeties and Coleman are really hurting us. Emanuel has been really good or getting schooled as well. But might as well let the young guys learn on the job. They are winners.
