The play is designed to roll the pocket to the right. So our whole line moves to the right at the snap. This opens up edge rushers on the left side. And they were coming. But Dobbs is running right. However, S Car has a guy coming off that edge too, and Dobbs is headed for him. But Hurd steps up and blocks him upfield, which allows Dobbs to cut in and underneath the rush, opening him up to be able to keep rolling.

Whew watching it live was nerve-racking. It looked like a sack may be coming, which likely would have ended the game.

Here are some stills of this block. Definately a huge play that doesn't go on the stat line. Hurd's blocking has gotten so much better since the first game this year. He has become a vital part of this offense.

Hurd has made a lot of progress in just nine games. He gets those last two-to-five yards the great backs always get after contact.

Found it. I guess destroyed isn't exactly the best term, but he does knock him back about seven yards. While he doesn't bring the defender down, he does keep him out of the play.

Whoops. I can't believe I got them mixed up. I normally don't make that mistake.

I did create Jackie Walker in my football mogul game if it matters. I also know who Richmond Flowers and Pete Athas are.

Read that spurrier was asked about coming back next year and he affirmed that he'll be there. Guess that'll give Butch a chance to threepeat against the OBC.

Another important aspect of that is Dobbs reading the block. He could have kept trying to run around the outside of the defender, but instead he read Hurd underneath him and cut behind Hurd. Both of them did a great job on that play.

Yeah I think that may just have to come with experience. He did that stuff in HS but maybe he is so focused on what he is taught that he forgets to let his instincts take over when the sees something. I agree he has missed several cut backs. I also get frustrated when he runs out of bounds right before the first down marker instead of a quick cut and run over someone for the extra yard. Shoulder maybe?

It'd likely go to Miss St - Vandy (if they're still #1 or highly ranked) or a ranked Ole Miss playing Arkansas.

CBS pretty much views Missouri as a ratings black hole and playing a (if we beat UK) 5-5 UT team isn't going to be enough to sway their interests. UT's more of a draw to viewers, yes, but not enough of one - with that kind of record - to balance that out.

CBS just wants/cares about eyeballs above all else; they'll go with the ranked teams.

Do you think will start him on senior day? Let him hand the ball off a time or two then take him out so the crowd can give him a standing ovation.

Worley deserves it.

I think Neyland is rocking both home games. Our defense will be rested up and will play inspired football. Dobbs and Hurd will run all of these defenses ragged (250+ on the ground each game).

We are about to rock and roll...
