Looking at the playoff committee's top 25, you are NOT going to be able to skate with Ohio State pie schedule and get in there anymore. I really like it so far...

It is a part of building a program. Do well a few years in a row, move up to a better conference. Do well there and then move up to a better conference that will get you into the playoffs.
I just can't feel bad for a team that goes 8-0 against lackluster teams. Also, no trying to dog your thoughts on it POA. Hopefully I didn't come off as rude. :hi:

I agree. It was a shocking performance from the offense.
I just can't understand why Dobbs was buried all year. Surely he was torching our defenders in practice. Puzzling.

I am not sure I can explain this, but my sense is that the Vols don't hit the boiling point with Dobbs, unless the kettle has been on the stove without him the first part of the season. In a way the rest of the offense needed to be "warmed up" to be able to support him effectively. If this doesn't happen who knows how things might have stalled.
A perfect example is Hurd's block on the the toss to Croom. And Croom sitting down into space for that matter. Hurd and Croom had gotten up to speed on their roles. They knew what was indicated in the dynamic flow of the game. Having the discipline and confidence of Worley in the early year allowed for great teaching opportunities to reach this level of offensive team performance. Second guessing doesn't solve anything. Strikes me as fascinating that the offensive kettle seems to have started whistling. I mark it up as a coaching accomplishment.
Hit the big 3-0 today guys. Feeling old.
I am someone who hit 30 before you were born and have kids pushing 40. So What? You is what you is. We are here for only a flicker. Love every day; Love the Lord, your family, your friends. You bring nothing into this world and take nothing out of it. Make every day special by being here.

Tennessee Vols' 10 most wanted prospects in the 2015 class
Can anybody with a sub tell us who Callahan thinks the top10 remaining prospects on our 2015 board are?
There can be little doubt there was a legitimate reason for it, be it Dobbs and his family's desire to redshirt or his inconsistency in practice. No way you can recruit the caliber of players UT is and keep the best ones on the bench. These kids all talk amongst themselves and there's not a thing CBJ and the staff might say that could overcome this sort of scuttlebutt. Future recruiting would crash and burn at a lightning pace.
You would think Ferguson must have known. Perhaps it is as some have said on here-- his family wanted him to redshirt and coach was respecting their wishes. .
No, Ferguson just quit because he wasn't named starter in spring. Dobbs was being redshirted because the staff felt he needed more development based off play in practice. He is already half a year ahead in his program and is on track to complete the 5 year course in 4 years
I agree. Ferguson had some problem that was his own.
I've been told Dobbs and/or his family requested a redshirt. I think Jones was fine with that as long as the team didn't need him. Jones needed him last year; they understood. Jones needed him this year; they understood again. It's not some weird or grand conspiracy. It's players, parents, and coaches taking an active role in making decisions for the player's career. This happens all the time.
The coaches had him on the bench because he didn't look head and shoulders above Worley in practice. By most accounts, he was behind both of them in the fall. The primary consideration was what is best for the team. The secondary consideration was Dobbs or his family asking for a redshirt for whatever reason they had. The coaches agreed...until they didn't.
Honestly, I don't understand why this Dobbs redshirt situation is hard to figure out with even the little bit of context we have.
Im not talking about them getting into the playoffs. Im talking about them cracking the top 25. They are in the AP Poll, just not the committees rankings. And they are straight destroying teams. And then you have a 6-3 WVU (who is a good team) in the top 25.
Lol, you guys gotta read this. Jesse Palmer got blasted for saying Jamies Winston is the best big-game QB in CFB and for comparing him to Michael Jordan.
