Got a question for the RF. How many of you guys care a lot for UT sports other than Football? I'll be honest, but the only UT sport I care a lot about is football. I mean, I'll watch other Ut sports from time to time when football isn't on. If they win, great. If they lose, I really don't care.

P.S. I do really like soccer, so I'll follow the lady vols team when I get the chance.

Used to keep up with both basketball teams...
Now try to keep up with baseball and softball.

All other sports are very far behind football though...
When I was a student there, I went to every game that I could, regardless of the sport. Volleyball, track, swimming and diving, plus all the majors above.

I think you're right.

Barnett
McKenzie
O'Brien
Maggitt

Bates
JRM

Sutton
Randolph
Kelly
Martin
Gaulden

Would be nasty.

I don't see a non ee freshman taking over at DT over 2 upper classmen. Maybe McKenzie is just that good, but just from a mental standpoint of learning the defense, I can't imagine he's ready to take the starting job that soon, especially when Owen and obrien haven't played poorly.

+1

Won't be a starter. They'll (McKenzie and Shy) definitely be heavily rotated though.

Seeing what Maggitt and Barnett and even Vereen are doing at DE makes me think back on Jazquez Smith and really wonder why he didn't pan out. I know, I know who the coach was and all that, but at some point doesn't the player just have to step up? He never had more than 2 sacks in a year, and he played a lot all four years. He did have a pick-six though.

Coaching is very important. People who say it's just about recruiting are missing a big piece of it. Give stripling 4 years with him and we'd have seen a different outcome.

I'm all about some due process but Jameis just needs to be banned from football already.
I'm tired of jameis as much as the next guy, but the website that reported it is bs. They're the same site that reported that tajh Boyd had a $80k gambling debt and a bunch of other made up stories

I guess this makes me the next guy. :)

But yes, Winston is very tiring...probably more so for Jimbo. But as much as I'd like to never hear another thing about Jameis, this story is a load of crap. The concept of shaving points is wayyyyy toooo complex for Jameis.

I follow just about every sport UT competes in. Always watching on tv or online or checking Twitter for updates. I want any Vols team to win every game, match, or event they are in.

Still, you'd expect some improvement in four years from a guy getting that much field time. Looking at his stats, there's just no real improvement. I think it's strange because he was more-or-less the starter for three of those four years. Just an observation really.

I'm obsessed with football, of course, but I'm also a pretty big hoops fan. I usually start the season with tempered expectations, but I get pretty into it by January/February. It's a nice diversion before spring football starts.

I follow baseball to some degree, and would like to see that team do well, but it's hard to get into those games one way or another.

This is pretty much exactly where I stand as well.

Am I the only one that would rather play in a bowl in Fl or elsewhere for the guys other than Nashville? I mean I know its a bowl, but its a bowl 2 1/2 hours away. Just for the guys to get to experience something. I guess I'm probably the only one. Would be good for Nashville recruiting I suppose

I want a Florida bowl just because I live there and would make it easier to attend.

Yeah he was such a strange player. There was always such high hopes for him going into every year. It made so much sense that he would just eventually break out. Then it just never happened.

Sadly I can't really think of anybody else at defensive end that was much better on those defenses while he was here.

None of the other DL really improved either, unless I'm forgetting someone. I see what you're saying, but I think it's more of an indictment on coaching than on JS, although if he had a Vereen type work ethic, you'd think he'd have gotten better despite coaching.

Just looking at the recruiting rankings on espn. How in the world are michigan and uf in the top 30? They have less than 10 commits. I think they updated their rankings recently.

He was consistently out of position which I attribute to the changing schemes year to year. Just this year we've seen a huge difference when the DEs contain the QB and turn things toward the inside. Smith seemed to forget that.

55 would crash every time. Didn't matter what happened, he ALWAYS crashed.

Tennessee has offered two prospects in Northern Virginia.

2018 Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton RB Ricky Slade
