I haven't coached football and haven't played since middle school, so I could be way off here, but I'm pretty convinced it's this pee wee league blocking scheme. I like run-pass option, and I think it should be a package in every offense's playbook. However, I think when you try to run it every play and the OL is constantly having to guess whether they are supposed to run block or pass pro, it causes them to hesitate and play way too timid for this league.

Gatas are going to be set up nicely with Mike White and Scott Frost leading their two major athletics teams.
And of course when those programs coincidentally both have down seasons in the same year, they'll just have to comfort themselves with their inevitable national championships in other sports.
