Team motto this year reflects what coaches thought were areas of growth potential

Details
Accountability
Toughness

Nice evaluation... didn’t quite stick the landing

In my opinion, the coaches needed to adhere to the motto as much as the players.

Makes sense if he resigns now. Going out on a high note with a win.

In case anybody missed what I said last night, RockyTopSC said yesterday that Currie was cool, calm and collected and didnt act like somebody would given the circumstances he was in. Said that he actually thought it was funny that people had been calling and texting him all night after someone posted his phone number on the internet.

Butch was hugging Currie yesterday pregame and I saw him hugging some players pregame. For the most part, given that they had just lost 5 in a row and all of the negativity going around, the players all seemed to be in an overall good mood last night. They all probably knew yesterday or sooner.

Not really, they are consistently good.

5 years before Frost got there they averaged 10 wins a year and won 3 conference titles.

That 0-12 season was an extreme outlier from where they progress normally is.

It doesn't matter. Frost took over the 0-12 squad, not the BCS roster. Anybody left from that BCS bowl roster wouldn't have played at all because they would have been redshirting.

It does matter. That season was a disaster (I admittedly don’t know why) but the 3 seasons before that they won 9, 10, and 12 games.

Let’s stop acting like he’s built them into something they haven’t been before. The season before Frost was an extreme outlier, not a trend or state of the program.

Nobody is. People are acting like he took a very bad football program in its current state and turned it around quickly.

You don't go 0-12 with a few unlucky breaks. You only go 0-12 by being a very bad football team.

We should know what a bad football team looks like.

True but let’s not act like it’s a total rebuild either. Before that 0-12 season they were 22-2 in conference the previous 3 years with 2 titles.

They had the talent and the pedigree, needed someone to come in and give that program a shock and he sure has done that. Very good coach.

I’m not trying to say he’s not a good coach or anything, I’d just slow down on crowning him Urban Meyer like some have.

Those saying no way Gruden would have signed a MOU, someone in the Gruden thread pointed out that Currie signed a MOU a month before he started and Hart left.

The job was open for nearly a year before that happened. Not even close to being a good comparison

Sorry I’m not super educated in Contract stuff, but what is an MOU? Obviously from context it would be a Grude news if he signed one, but what is it?

Talent and pedigree doesn't go 0-12.

Poor talent doesn’t win 31 games, 3 division titles, 2 conference titles.

It was there, needed to be coached up. Recruiting ranking had them at top 3 in their conference so the ranking would disagree with you as well.

One of the reasons I’m concerned he’s fools gold. I like his “we’re going to crush your soul” edge but is he a guy that and compete year in and year out with the best of the best?

It is a good comparison. If Butch has reached an agreement to not return, then the job is open. It may not be public knowledge that the job is open but to that doesn't matter. Also, it's been said that UT can't enter into an agreement with another coach while it's under contract with Butch. Well that's false if you look at what happend with UT, Hart, and Currie.

What frost is doing at UCF would be the equivalent of our new coach winning 9 games next year. It would be a very good job but wouldn't be exceptional. It's where the two programs should be.

He could end up being very good, I’ll admit.

That being said, he’s not achieving anything UCF hasn’t done a few times in the last decade already.

People try and use the 0-12 record to paint the UCF program as a bottom perennial bottom dweller. Not even close to the truth.

It's very, very difficult to go 0-12 with talent.

10 of those 12 teams scored 30 or more on that UCF team. Several scored 40+

Not true at all. Hart and the AD was publicly open. There are state regulations for a job being open and we aren't at that point yet. Sure he could have a verbal agreement but zero shot he has signed a legal binding one.

Rumors of a team meeting will probably come around in the next few hours if there are rumors of Butch resigning

True, but we have averaged top 10 classes over the past 4 recruiting cycles and are staring down the barrel of 4-8 with our wins being over teams we are vastly more talented than.

UCF doesn’t have that big of a talent cushion as UT.

My guess is the rumors of Gruden agreeing and signing MOU are legit and that’s going to start leaking. Currie can’t keep it quiet any longer. So it’s time to move on from Butch and announce Gruden. If Butch does resign tomorrow look for Gruden announced very soon after. BOOM!

Then, let us go!!!
