I just want to win the damn SEC East at least once before 2020, is that too much to ask?!

Me too, but that isn’t enough. Florida won the east and we all know Mac is terrible. Butch is just worse. I don’t want a guy who will win the east and then go get throttled in Atlanta. I want a guy who can make us a legit contender

Frost could have 16 starters back next year at UCF.

Could be why he could be considering staying at UCF. Also may have good insight into the mess/pressure at UF. There be even more opportunities next year if he decides to stay n build his resume

Here is what we know about Mullen. The guy is a QB whisperer. No doubt about it, no questioning it. With great QB play you can win a lot of football games.

We also know that he has won at a level higher than any coach in MSU history.

My concerns are the things that Nick has pointed out, but there is no disputing this first two facts.

Will it translate to TN? Will he be able to win at a higher level like Saban going from Mich st to LSU? That’s the question

Yes.

As several have said, with the right staff in place (and I imagine UT *should* allow him to upgrade his staff) Mullen can get UT to the CFP. To me, so much of it seems to be assembling a solid 10 win team, building a quality staff for the side of the ball you don't handle, then IDing the right QB to push it past that 10 win mark.

Mullen's name can be attached to an incredible list of QBs so I don't see any reason he couldn't win at a high level here.

Only Mullen himself can determine this, but the issue is whether or not he wants to change his staff. I have said it before, but I have a friend whose family is long time season ticket holders. His Dad knew Jackie Sherrill. He told me that Mullen's best friend is the OL coach and maybe co-OC and that he won't make a change. The OL has been inconsistent and subject to criticism at times. So, whether or not you have money for an upgrade in staff, it's up to the coach to do it.
