I think my statement of top 5 in the SEC vs your statement of mediocre are both just predictions, not fact by any means. We can agree to disagree on how he would do. However, one thing is for sure, he would definitely get more out of his recruits(and current players on the roster) than Butch ever did. This is also just a prediction based on how he has been able to do more with less at Miss St.

And my counterpoint would be that he should be dealing with MORE with this much time invested in one spot. You can only wring the “it’s Mississippi State” neck so many times before you ask yourself how a good recruiter couldn’t sell more kids on HIMSELF, if he’s able to make connections and maintain them. I’m not talking about stocking up Starkville with 5 stars, just a representative sample of 4 stars and highly recruited 3’s. That he hasn’t doesn’t sell me that he could make the jump to have us in the hunt against UGA and Florida...and we need that.

Supposedly he's not crazy about the lack of exposure they get at Washington. If we're gonna throw that type of deal at Gruden, why would we not offer Peterson the same deal? Because it is Miss St, imo, the worst school in the SEC.

Seriously, there are only a handful of schools I would put underneath Miss St in any Power 5 conference. It is that bad there.

I wouldn't put much stock into it right now. I would be more upset if he didn't at least reach out to him. Hell I would reach out to most head coaches not named Saban. Hopefully it goes farther than just a gauge in interest.

I still think the 10.3 miles was thrown out there for other big names to see we mean bidness

I have no idea. I do know Peterson doesn’t like some of the PAC12 issues as a whole. He turned down Florida x2 so it makes me wonder if it’s an sec issue but if Currie is offering 8mil - 10mil and total control I’m sure anyone would listen.
