Above all what we need is a coach who is going to be here long term. I know you all get giddy over coaching searches but it is very bad for a program to do this every 3-5 years. We need at least a good decade out of the next hire.

I think what annoys me most about 90% of that station is they are LAZY when reporting about Tennessee. You can tell they don’t do any real research and everything they discuss about us is just their personal opinion on how they perceive things.

This is what I’ve found in sports talk radio in general. Here in Nashville when we do get sports talk talking about the Vols it is so misinformed. They don’t even try to dig for the facts or use rational analysis.

I really don’t understand the view that Mullen would fail here. He’s done better than Butch Jones while at Mississippi State. Makes no sense to think Mississippi State’s ceiling is the same as ours, unless folks just have a low view of Tennessee (which perhaps the Mehlenites do).

Actually you probably have it backwards. Mehlenites (me included) don't feel like the transitive property is absolute, and UT has the ammo to do better.
