(A) I think you get the boot for this, no matter what.

(B) In part because of (A), I feel like the determination was made that JJ wouldn’t be back and it’s easier (and also sends the strongest message) for Hoke to can him right now rather than make the new coach do it right off the bat.

A. I don’t really disagree with this. But I don’t think that means it has to be done today.

B. I disagree here. Waiting to do it until Hoke is done doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be dropped into the next coach’s lap. He could have been suspended, met with Currie, and been dismissed early next week and it would have projected much, much more competence.

So much we don’t know about JJ situation. So much history and behind the scenes we have no clue

One thing certain... he did dumb, and Currie had seen enough

There’s one person who is to blame here and he’s sitting at home tonight.

Unacceptable. I just wish they had worded this differently to allow new coach to determine future.

For those assistant coaches, they had no choice but to boot JJ. Their backbone wouldve been put into question and since they are officially job hunting they don’t want their future employer to be wondering why they let a player publically shi* on them and do nothing about it.

Doesn’t mean it has to be done the way it was.

Their next employees will be much more concerned with whether they can get results out of their players than why they suspended a kid instead of dismissing him.

That’s true but still a question you don’t want popping up in a job interview.

That’s kind of low. Troll or not i don’t think people should be digging into his personal stuff like that.

Yeah I agree. I went back and edited my post if you want to take it out of your quote too. I probably should have not asked.

I just don't see the point in pretending this staff runs a tight program as the season wraps. We've had players fighting players, giving each other concussions and stitches, skipping meetings, sassing coaches, halfassing workouts, flipping off fans on national TV and opting not to practice or play all season. Now an interim's going to pretend to rein in a mismanaged, frustrated team that has had no leadership and discipline all year.

What JJ did was unacceptable, but we've had multiple players do equally unacceptable things this season and they were suspended a game. This staff made a mess of this year-- why let them impact next year? One more game and we reboot with a better staff.

This.

Not if you’re as bad at your job as most of our assistants are, yeah.

But really you’re assuming he wouldn’t be dismissed eventually, which probably isn’t the case. If you suspend him and dismiss him 5-7 days later it might actually be an easier question to answer

This is the reason Butch should have been packing last season. He had one foot out the door. Should have pushed his backside out too.

Also, love that you used the word "sassing". Lol

Yep, I was hoping he would bail last year and save us the buyout. Alas, he merely bailed mentally and stuck us with an $8M buyout.

LOL, sassing. I heard it often enough from my grandmother growing up.

Yep. DT kicked Trey Smith in the face (soon after being suspended for punching an opponent in a game) and managed to come back in time for a stretch of games crucial to butch’s future.

Silly that they decide to become harda**es when the ship is already 90% sunk

In your opinion, would there be any path for him to come back to the team under the new Head Coach?

I've seen this discussed a lot on twitter lately, so figured I'd ask yalls opinion: Who left the program in worse shape Dooley or Butch?

What law did Jennings break that warrants such a severe consequence? Hoke is a puss if he can’t take the criticism. Currie should have suspended JJ and let the new coach decide how to handle it.

Are you serious?

What laws were broken? :eye roll:
Kids get kicked out of school all the time for failing too many classes. JJ got kicked off a football team...

Hoke is a "puss" because he was unwilling to let a 20 yr old kid publicly blast the coaches in a live streamed, profanity laced diatribe?

JJ did it publicly for all to see
