6 losing seasons in 10 years for us. This is Florida’s second losing season in about 38 years.

We are bouncing along at rock bottom. If we don’t hire someone elite to restore instant credibility, we may remain here a while longer (unless we make a dramatic change or two).

What I expect is a steady trickle of “insiders” saying he didn’t sign starting Sunday morning, it will flow to an avalanche by Monday morning and then someone close to Gruden will dispel the rumors once and for all by Monday or Tuesday with a bold and clear statement. We will announce whoever our coach is by the end of next week.

Ha ha. Actually I’ve grow quite comfortable with this viewpoint (i.e., I’m not depressed at all!). I think it’s a fairly plain and objective reality. But as I’ve said before if we don’t hire someone elite, I’ll remove myself from the board so as not to bore everyone with negativity in the coming years. I will be very much a wait and see fan.

We’re a bottom 3 SEC team the last 10 years. BV is probably the best defensive coordinator in the country.

Venables with a top staff has potential to be dynamite. Not only a top d coordinator but a great recruiter as well.
