He's already been on the clock. Said this past Sunday, then Monday, then Tuesday at the latest. All gone.

It'll continue to go on until we hire someone. He won't stop the talk and neither will Currie. When Gruden isn't announced on Sunday, it'll move to Tuesday. When it isn't announced Tuesday, he's decided to wait for some "legit" reason.

I'm one of the few that believes Mullen would consistently win here, albeit not my first choice. His floor would be 9 wins. He can flat out coach and develop.

Venables with a top staff has potential to be dynamite. Not only a top d coordinator but a great recruiter as well.

Great coordinator.

Running a program of this nature is a different beast. I don't think Currie goes the coordinator route. It could pay off, but the unknown is enough to make him leery IMO.

Mullen is a great coach. I think he’s our floor for a hire (which is a great thing).

I don't think anyone would argue he's better than Jones.

Probably but, like coaching, you have to recruit someone to fit your system. As you mentioned in an earlier post, Bert was a HR but didn’t work out because of fit among other things.

Just because we don’t get one of your perceived “home run” hires doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. There are some really good coaches people are dismissing because they have Gruden fever when no one really even knows how Gruden would do. A really good coach can absolutely take this program to the next level, “home run” or not.
