I don't think anyone would argue he's better than Jones.

He's absolutely better than Butch Jones. That said, I think his ceiling will be similar to the 2015 and 2016 records Butch had if Florida happens to hire Kelly. Probably the same number of SECE titles as well.

Because he has been developed.

He had 2 D1 offers coming out of high school. Like the 50th ranked DT QB coming out.

Please stop using recruiting rankings especially with QBs. That is more about exposure than anything. There are countless examples of “nobodies” that made it to the nfl and elite 11 guys who didn’t even do anything in college.

I don't think he's good enough to catch up with the talent head start Smart has, and Chip Kelly would pass him quickly.

Even though YES I GET IT HES AT MISSISSIPPI STATE he hasn't beaten Alabama, so I'll believe he can beat Saban when I see it, you're already looking at three losses somewhat baked in.

I think he's a good coach, but I don't think he's a coach who's great enough to make up significant ground. I also don't take the transitive property as absolute. Maybe, just maybe, he's the ideal coach for State, but not so great a fit for Tennessee.
