Gonna have to say something here. MSU was #9 in the nation in Total D until tonight. They are having breakdowns in the secondary for a handful of big plays. They got tired, as our D would do, from the O turning the ball over and having 3 and outs.

My thoughts on Grantham go back to his time at UGA when we were beating them.

Just sayin

Yep we still act like this is the 90s. This is a proud program and we are capable of greatness but it’s going to take time to rebuild. We are like 12th in the sec in winning percentage the past ten years. Dan Mullen is a good coach and would consistently win games here. We should be really happy if we get him

Yeah it is the die hard, bled dry of their orange blood fans fault..makes sense.

You chill and get off your high horse. You don't know what the heck you're taking about as far as my feelings about Mehllan goes. It has nothing to do with this game.
High horse? Lmao. I just think you guys are being ridiculous saying Mullen isn’t a good coach. He consistently wins at the most difficult job in the SEC. Tennessee is one of the easier jobs in the SEC. Give Mullen our resources and access to talent and he would win big imo.

Question:

I remember back in 2012 the fanbase rallied around Butch because UT pushed the narrative that Butch was the only one willing to take the job considering the work that would have to be put in to get the train back on the tracks.

Does the next coach get the same benefit? If it's Mullen or Campbell or Schiano, I think we can all agree Tennessee got down its hot board. That means we were turned down by the big names once again.

I will support whomever but not unquestionably so, and they need to show improvement over what we have been seeing.

So what? Campbell would be a better hire than Gruden for sure and I prefer Mullen over gruden personally.

Gruden was never going to come here. He has talked about how he doesn’t want to coach college football on a couple different occasions.

Campbell is an absolute roll of the dice, and to probably two thirds of the fan base, is a google hire. He's done some impressive things, but he's the riskiest hire of those commonly mentioned. Him over Gruden- who certainly is an unknown quantity in some respects- is madness.

Not sure Mullen is as far down as people think. Currie probably allowed boosters and others to run with the Gruden chase, and if something came out of it then great. However, I think Currie probably had a list of Peterson, Patterson, Mullen, Frost, Campbell in that order. Out of what Currie perceived as realistic choices, Mullen was most likely top 3 on the list. Once again, you go down the check list of what you want in a new HC in the SEC, and Mullen hits on every bullet point.

Alright I know I know my dad's buddy was freaking wrong.

I get it okay.

But I just got some more juicy Grumors and dam* it imma share them alright.
If you wanna call me a troll so be it. I'm not trolling, I don't care what people say. at the end of the day God is my witness and I am reporting what I have been told.

Mind you, If I was looking for attention and I was doing this to troll everyone. First of all I wouldn't have brought information that would of been proven right or wrong within 6 hours of posting it and I would of posted it in the Gruden forum not in the RF.

So a Fraternity brother of mine just sent a message in our pledge class groupme that his mom had lunch with Cindy Gruden today. Supposedly his family is good friends with the Gruden family. Well they decided to have a little discussion about Jon. Supposedly Cindy Gruden not only is on board with Jon coaching at Tennessee, but she actually wants him to coach at Tennessee. TIFWIW

Sure - that's the right approach. My biggest fear is we hire someone like Campbell, who is a very good coach and UT would be lauded national for hiring, but he goes 6-6 his first year and the Grumors are fired back up.
