We don't need a program builder. We aren't close to Msu level. A good to great coach can win big here, especially with a good defense, which he's had multiple times at State

You ALWAYS need a program builder. That’s what great coaches do. If you ain’t BUILDING you’re regressing.

People on here fail to realize how awful Msu was before Mullen. Their best coach since the 40's is Sherrill, he was .500 at Msu but at Pitt had 3 straight 11 win season and conference titles, 4 top 10 finishes in 5 years. At A&M he had 2 10 win seasons and 3 conference titles in 7 years. At msu in 13 years he had ONE 10 win season, one division title and zero top 10 finishes. You can only take a program as a high as their ceiling is. Better resources at a better program makes it easier to win and recruit

Blah blah blahblah...Mehpuke 🤢

Hubbs said from the beginning Mullen is the only sure thing interview wise. We're clearly interviewing him/have interviewed him this weekend.

Campbell seems to be fading & hopefully the Schiano stuff yesterday wasn't legit. Feel like we have our guy.

Clearly? Where can I check that?

Mullen is an itch on Sexton’s ass that we just so happened to scratch. No dice.

Babyvol speculated that maybe plane in KC was to pick up Mike Waufle, DL coach for Bills.

Then just now Chattavol dug up a quote from Hubbs on 11/13..

Waufle is an old coaching colleague of his who might be his DL if Gruden decides to take a job either in the NFL or in college. Again, I still think the percentages are low that Gruden is the Vols next coach

Good point. As good as he was, Fulmer didn't continuously build the program. It started the slide, and with other programs hiring better coaches, we got passed.

Hasn’t Mullen stated more than once in the last week or so that he’s staying in Starkville? I think he even said he’d be back after the game Thursday. Would be a bad look for him if he jumped ship here
