Although probably too late, I just sent this email:

Dear Vice Chancellor Currie,

Please don’t hire Greg Schiano as the next Tennessee Volunteers’ head coach.

With Tennessee being in the heart of the Bible Belt, his association with PSU in their darkest hours and his possible knowledge and inaction during that time will Be absolutely unacceptable to the faithful Tennessee fans.

I have been a faithful fan since I turned 11. I am now 55. I can handle losing. I cannot handle apparent disdain for what it means to be a Tennessee Volunteer.

Please don’t send the VFLs into a wilderness of despair.

Find us a coach that understands our traditions. Find a coach who can live up to General Neyland’s legacy.

What about the supposed DEFCON 1 plan where we go get Cutcliffe?

I would take Durkin, Brohm, Norvell, Morris, Venables, Arranda. Schiano is literally my last choice. Actually, he's not even my last choice. I would let student coaches take the reins before Schiano.

My alma mater disgraces me.

Given McQuery was the reason the whole Sandusky thing came out he has a lot of credibility. Most of the other stuff McQuery said was true, so why would I think this is a lie?

Just one point of clarification, McQueary did not claim to have had the conversation with Schiano. According to McQeary's testimony, Tom Bradley said Schiano had told him (Bradley) about seeing something inappropriate. So, it's basically third-hand information. McQueary says that Bradley said that Schiano said he saw something.

Not defending anyone. I don't see any reason to touch this mess with a 10-foot pole.

There is no way this is the best UT can do. Schiano checks off none of our boxes-- including being in place next week for recruits. It's a panic move by Currie, who kneejerked exactly like Hart... who kneejerked exactly like Hammy. UTAD is like Groundhog Day, repeating the same mistakes again and again and again. And fans keep accepting and enabling... again and again and again. One side needs to break the pattern.

I don't think the fans are accepting or enabling this hire. As bad as this hire is though, it's gonna be made worse after the fallout from radio, twitter, and blogs with the negative reaction from fans. We will be lucky if we sign a top 50 class ever while Schiano is here.

What recruit is going to come to a place with this kind of reputation. Negative recruiting will be rampant. Get a freaking coordinator. Let Fulmer interim. Don't destroy this team.

If he's cleared of any wrongdoing with the PSU stuff is the only way I can even watch another football game.

So with that being said, what kind of assistants do we think he'd surround himself with?

Top 50, we will be lucky to sign a top 250 class. (Yes, I know there aren't that many teams.)

The DEFCON 1 plan was what I suggested we should do if things went nuclear-- have Fulmer and Peyton intervene and give Cut a golden parachute to come back for a few years and round up some other Tennessee staffers to save us from disaster. It would be an intervention.

will only believe this if he is standing at the podium. If he does, I am out and won't return until a new coach is hired. I will trash Currie every chance I get. I know two skyboxes will be instantly eliminated for next season.

Guess we know 99% of the so called insiders don't know jack****, and no that 11th hour bull**** is not a reason to be forgiven

If this happens, Jon Gruden needs to go ahead and sell his house back to the Haslam's. What he did was a disservice to this school and his son. Don't bother showing up in Knoxville again.

He could have been a man and united this fan base but instead he let it fester, and this program has become an absolute cluster.
