FYI

Chris Petersen has beaten the following elite coaches with inferior talent:

Bob Stoops-2007 with Adrian Peterson
Chip Kelly-2009 double digit win
Gary Patterson-2009
Mark Richt-2011 in the dome by two touchdowns!

He also has beaten David Shaw but I can't say the talent was inferior to Stanford.

The man has played some of the best coaches and straight up outcoached them!

Mullen would be a huge letdown after talking about Gruden and Peterson.

It would be like the kid at Christmas expecting to open a present and find a great toy, and instead it’s a pair of socks. Or in this case, gloves

I don't like to do this but my sources have told me announcement could be any day. If not Sunday or Monday, could be Tuesday or Wednesday. After that, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are all possibilities.

Yeah I'll take a guy who's 128-28 with 5 conference championships and a playoff birth at Washington over a guy who's never coached college football and hasn't coached football at all in ten years. Petersen > Gruden. Really isn't that close for me.

Gruden for me because he would be more likely to surround himself with a staff more ready to hit ground running recruiting this area. Peterson prob brings most his guys over where most connections are out West. Still would be very excited but would have questions in terms of recruiting in this region. Outside of that not much question about him

Agree 100%. Was just about to post the same. Either one is a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and down 3. If I’m being honest, if Petersen can hire a great staff who can be elite recruiters, then I think he’s the better hire out of the 2. Either way, I will be booming excessively and talking trash to all those on my FB, who have been saying we can’t make a big hire and have been laughing and mocking us.

You can make fun but I’m thinking it’s going to be Sunday based off what Larry said. If you are UT and you want to give media a heads up for Sunday then you gotta do it ahead of time. They don’t need a heads up for weekdays. But dont wanna tip hand so say “be ready Sunday just in case.”

Jim Mora won 11 games and went to an NFC championship game more recently than Gruden did. He sure was a HR for UCLA wasn’t he?

Petersen would send tremors throughout the SEC. There would be one big collective, "Oh, crap (expletive deleted)..." by opposing coaching staffs and AD's in particular. He can flat build and develop a quality winning program. We go from a joke to a really tough out overnight. I just never really believed he would move from the west to Knoxville. If that is happening, I'm jumping in because the water is warm.
