We were led to believe things from a money standpoint would be different this time. That we'd pay top dollar in order to get this program back. So was all that a bunch of bunk? Why are we willing to pay 350 million for a stadium renovation but not 5 or 6 for a football coach?

Currie said UT would pay top dollar for a top name and FMV for anyone else. He's either fishing in the FMV pond or gone back to the bargain bin. The stadium renos are his pet project and he's been focused there. He thinks fans will continue to come if UT gives them a better gameday experience. I said that a month ago and got bodyslammed.

All the more reason it’s another indictment on Currie to let this swirl and trot out Pruitt.

I knew it. Jim and Jimmy Haslam are in a pissing match with T. Boone Pickens. They are going to ridiculously overpay for Mike Gundy to save face and to show that they're better rich guys than Pickens.

If we have to overpay Gundy, fine. Our AD should learn that trying to always go cheap can end up costing you more in the end.

There are articles referring to it while they were both still there. Richt denied that anything was going on, but that is not a certainty.

The only reason I think there is even a slight chance at Gundy(1%) is because of how ridiculous it is he is behind Schiano and Cutcliffe. Bizarre circumstances are needed for Tennessee to hire a good coach.

Gundy is doing us a favor by agreeing to this. Currie can claim he tried, since it has become apparent that he had Schiano in the bag and the Mullen/Grumors were smoke screen. We will be lucky to get Pruitt or Norvell.
