As incompetent as the Haslams are, I don't think they are evil or malicious. And I think they realize that they themselves AND their AD puppet are persona non-grata permanently if they don't come home with a solid hire. So they will overpay like crazy to get one.

You can’t use that arguments. It’s about current market. It’s the same reason Matt Stafford is highest paid player in the league or joe Flacco was at one point the highest paid QB.

Nope. This is a lesson that needs to be learned. You're going to have to overpay when you make the most disastrous coaching search in college football in the last 2 decades.

Think Gundy would be a good fit personality wise, will put up alot of points with his offense, and something that would excite the fans. If you've got to overpay him then so be it, he's better than morris or steele or pruitt.

He's not a can't miss hire by any means but he's very, very good. He basically is Oklahoma State football. Has a winning record vs Gary Patterson and TCU. Beat Art Briles when Baylor was rolling. Beat David Shaw when Stanford went 11-2.

Curb stomped Mike MacIntyre's Buffaloes last year. He's a good coach.
