I think the lined up part is he knows who he would target but given what's happened they would say no now. Hell I would. There is too much chaos. I'm just at a loss. I think when he starts losing it will turn out worse than butch with the hate, one because of how much Currie screwed this up from the start and we feel we should have gotten a better more experienced coach.

It would line up with ppl at USC "pushing" Tee for the HC job at UT. They might want to see him go, maybe? When is the last time you saw a HC publicly selling his current OC for a HC job that his OC has not even been offered?

What if he won? Talent overcomes a lot if you’re even competent as a coach. Even Butch won 9 games. Tee is a better recruiter.

It’s like i said, I’d rather gamble.

Morris can take the worst team to 7-5 in 3/4 years.

Meanwhile, Frost takes the worst team and gets them to 12-0 in year 2.

I’d rather gamble and try to find the next Frost.

I think you might be able to pull Steel in for that. I'd be more concerned with the OC. I think this would be very similar to the Barnes hire for basketball. He could stabilize the program and set it up for a better hire in 4-6 years. He would have to be ok with that though so we wouldn't get burned on the back end with a buyout. This program is in a similar place as the basketball program was prior to Barnes. This makes just too much sense for me.

Also, I think you could get Les for good money, probably $3-$4 mil. That would free up some cash for getting some quality assistants in here. Don't know that Tee would come since it appears he's not getting traction for the head coaching position. I just really think it could work.

UT had phone conversations with Morris. He is waiting to see what Jimbo is going to do. That is why you aren't hearing more about Morris at the moment ALL MY OPINION.

Guys, with our current situation we better hope Jimbo goes to A&M because for whatever reason Steele is next up.

Since Jimmy has been money on this search I'm going with Morris but if not announced very soon it's going to be someone else. Don't think Brohm takes the job unless we give him Gundy money and we very likely won't.

Fingers crossed it's Morris.

Yeah you can say that about anyone. This just isn't a good situation for anyone right now.

This exact same thing happened and we got Dooley and look what that did for the program. Same thing again with Butch, granted he did get us back to average in 15 and 16, but being a terrible in game coach caught up with him when all the talent left.

I may have gotten your hopes up for nothing. I was going to post a link but it looks like they've pulled the Vol pass for men. The Lady vols Volpass still shows available. :cray:
