If we hire Kevin Steele, we're basically going: "Enjoy a couple of years at your alma mater and then the comfortable retirement you'll get with huge buyout money we're giving you!"

no problem with him either but it appeared he was out of the picture earlier...
But if not Brohm then Norvell can do it...but someone said he carried baggage also...but I have no idea the baggage they refer to......

He was caught on camera at a local casino outside Memphis. Nothing major, but coaches in casinos is always a scare.

How about we say screw this year.....Get Fulmer as Interim coach and a few VFL's as assistants. Keep a few of the staff we have now and lets just have fun this year. Then we can see who is available next offseason. This year is gonna suck anyway so why not

Currie will probably structure the deal so that when he leaves for Louisville we somehow owe him the remainder of his contract or something

We are in no position to negotiation that and he knows it. He could just stay at Purdue and wait. We just offered Gundy 7m. Coaches know they can now ask for the moon.

I’ve said it before and will say it again: there is absolutely no reason why we don’t sign up Brohm. He’s a good coach, from the area and coaching at Purdue. What’s more is he’s only had one year of making big bucks at a P5 school. Throw him a $5m signing bonus and offer him $5.5/year. Put the full court press on him. He is not stupid enough to turn that down so he can wait on the Louisville job to open up. He’s just not.

If we hire Steele, I will not renew my season tix.

Kevin Steele.

9-36.

Guys... les Miles is unemployed. Currie and Haslam are doubling down.

and he will be 59 in May. I thought no oldies? Hellfire just go ahead hire Miles and get the program some respectability and hire a younger guy in 5 years.

Not sure why Brohm would be so much higher than Morris. He road Taggarts coat tails at WKU. Did a good job at Purdue this year, but has never recruited at the level needed here.

People need to stop with the recruiting angle. Jones had never recruited all that well before getting to TN. Having resources and being in the SEC amplifies anyone's recruiting ability. Dooley signed 5 stars.

If our AD is seriously more interested in money than winning, they better go with tee over Steele.

Tee will put butts in the seats. Steele won't. Tee would probably also have the edge on him on the winning thing too for that matter

Brohm has a $5.75M buyout until 12/5.

Purdue would waive that so they could start looking for a new coach ASAP. They wouldn't want him waiting till then just to avoid the buyout, because then Purdue would be screwed when he left so late.

Miles is a terrible idea. Just get Fulmer if we're going to an old coach passed his prime
