Point blank: If they could get Steele here with Tee as the OC and coach in waiting, it would be a great deal, and we would straight. up. get. players. We need players and recruiters. Those guys get players.

Just give the job to Tee. Steele is a proven loser. We don't know what Tee brings to the table but at least he's not 60 with a 1-31 conference record. Dude would be dead in the water in living rooms.

"Hi, I'm Nick Saban. I have 800 national championships."

"Hi, I'm Kirby Smart. I have 800 national championships and took UGA to 11-1 in two years."

"Hi, I'm Dan Mullen. I got MS State to #1 in the nation and coached Alex Smith, Tim Tebow, and Dak Prescott."

"Hi, I'm Kevin Steele. I made one of the worst coaching decisions in football history and went 1-31 in conference play."

A friend of mine who is an ex RB for the Miami Canes called me this morning to ask me what the he#$ is going on with Tennessee coaching search and to give me a little ribbing. He was the starting RB in 79-81 when Jim Kelly was QB and Mark Richt was backup during the days. He is very good friends with former Canes Jim Kelly, Mark Richt, Jim Burt, Otis Anderson, etc..and he is tickled to death with Mark Richt being back with the Canes.

Anyway, he said something to me that stuck in my mind. He told me it doesn't matter who the coach is that players win games not coaches. He told me during the Canes dominance back in the days, Miami was getting all the South Florida kids and 4 star and 5 star players left and right. When they got Al Golden, the recruiting pretty much stopped especially getting the top kids out of South Florida with mainly them going to FSU and Florida. Now that Richt is back, Canes are getting 4 and 5 star players again and Richt is putting a fence around South Florida and hence, Miami is winning again and it's because the players not just because Mark Richt is a great coach all of a sudden.

His point to me was as he asked me, why not give Tee Martin a shot? He told me "you know Tee is going to recruit well especially at Tennessee and start getting 4 and 5 star players left and right and I'm sure he will build a great staff because his contacts". He told me "Miami has never had the money, facilities and fan support as Tennessee has but we are now winning again because we are now getting the players again because Richt is a great recruiter and the players are making Mark look great right now". He told me it makes no sense at all why Tennessee doesn't at least speak with Tee and gauge interest because in his mind Tee is all orange and would do his best to right the ship and as long as Tee signs the players he will win at Tennessee with the tools he has to work with!
This is what I’ve been saying. Former players know what’s up. Tee would come in and bring elite talent immediately. Let him use our resources to surround himself with a great staff and let’s ride.

Or let’s wait to get turned down by Brohm and then Morris and then end up with Steele.

Tee isn't ready, and UT is not going to suddenly convince themselves he is. And too much attention has been placed on Steele at Baylor in the late 90s. Baylor has never won except when they cheated. Steele has been wildly successful at every other stop, and he is a great recruiter, and he'd bring in a TN staff which is what we need.

Former players don’t know what they’re talking about at all if they think the coach doesn’t matter.

That's the problem.

We keep talking about a podium.

Our new coach needs a wide open space to trot. He doesn't need a podium.

Press conference needs to be held here:

Hey! Don’t put my equestrian friends in that bad light.

No one is coming to play for 60 year old Kevin Steele , even with Tee Martin.

At this point I just want to hire someone that WANTS to be here. Whether it is Tee, Miles, Kiffin i really don't care. The more people that turn us down the worse we look. Ready for this to be over and get behind the coach and start moving forward.

Come off the Steele thing. It's a garbage hire. With Tee there's at least some hope. He's not going to come here to be Steele's OC anyway. He knows that Steele is a loser.

How old is Saban? This is nonsense.

And also, it is time to be realistic with the state of this football program.

I'd be happy with Brohm, but that isn't a hire for the future. Very small chance he is still here in 5 years, one way or another. If you bring in a staff that eventually has Tee as our HC, then we are setting the foundation.

The coach matters in terms of these qualities: is he a leader? Is he a morally upstanding individual? Is he competent? Can he recruit? Can he manage a program? Can he surround himself with smart people? Tee Martin can do all of those things or learn to do all of those things.

Guess what? We are on the verge of being garbage football program.

And Tee told you that? Cool. Tell him hi for me.

When Taggart got there they had lost like 26 straight games.

Taggart did an amazing job there’s no denying that. If Taggart was interested I wouldn’t even think twice about Brohm, but also saying Brohm rode Taggarts coat tails is completely false. Brohm came into a better situation, but he also took the program to heights it likely hasn’t ever seen. Think about what he could do with this roster and continued SEC talent. He would do very well.

Lol. So because we're in a horrible state right now means we should just accept it and make one of the worst head coaching hires in SEC history?

Tee might not be ready but there's no proof of that. There's plenty of proof that Kevin Steele isn't head coaching material. Just because he's a decent coordinator and position coach doesn't change that. Old dog isn't learning new tricks.

Best news you'll hear all day...

Avengers Infinity War trailer is out and it's AWESOME.

Definitely more excited about this that the coaching search. Sucks for my boys too that they don't have a real football team to pull for so have to get wait for the next Marvel movie.
