Now it all makes sense. Currie screws up the logical hire so he can get to the ******* hires. When it's actually the opposite they need. They need a players coach that they can trust while at the same time demand high expectations and be consistent in punishment/rules. It doesn't have to be a tyrant dictator. butchs problem was he lied too much and didn't stand his ground. Iyou don't have to be a dick to stand your ground and have players listen

Our situation is kinda like this right now....

We are down 8. 30 seconds left. We are backed up on our own 5 yard line. We know we need a miracle to score and then still have to convert the 2pt conversion just to send it to overtime where we will need to play well to win.

Hiring Dave Doereen would be like taking a knee.

So who is our hail Mary?

It’s true. No happy successful coaching are leaving. It’s not just us. David Shaw, Peterson, Gundy, etc have all been approached from “better” jobs. It’s not just Tennessee..LSU and USC has “failed” coaching searches at the times and look how they’ve both turned out. Throwing out Schiano was ok but it’s over with. Whoever the next hire is we have to get on board with or at the very least quit foaming out the mouth trying to devour him.

Mix in a little common sense with this approach and we are good.

At LEAST hire someone with potential that hasn’t already either proven to be very mediocre as a head coach or even worse a failure.

At LEAST give us a coordinator or g5 coach with potential.

NO reason we shouldn’t be able to hire Brohm, Morris, Tee, or even Houston.

Then there is Miles who would be MILES better than Doeren. Even Drinkwitz.

Even Healy from Peay.

Just not someone that’s proven to be just as bad or worse than who we just fired.

I have a friend that is a big Wolfpack fan. I think at one point Doeren was kind of a hot name coming from Northern Illinois where we won a lot of ball games. My buddy is kind of "meh" on him...his best season was this past season at 8-4. Not great but not awful. It's about all you can say at this point....

I’m from Raleigh and most my friends that are still there are Wolfpack fans. It’s been very mixed reviews. The general consensus has been that they don’t want him to leave, but wouldn’t care if he did. A couple of my friends laughed at the thought of him at UT. Said he shouldn’t ever be any higher than a program like NC State.

Is Price saying we are passing on Morris for Dave Doeren (hello the fact that none of us can spell his name should tell y’all something)

You could have Morris, Brooks, and Hobby on the sidelines and they are going to trot out Doeren. We could have a guy that coached Deshaun Watson, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, DeAndre Hopkins, but we are going to go for Dave Doeren. F this administration.

Wait, maybe Haslam is trying to sabotage the Vols to make the Browns look better ........ yea, that's the ticket

Eventually the peasants, the common folk, will win. Maybe not this coaching / AD search, but eventually.

I think it will go further down personally. I think we need a 10 loss season and 30k butts in the stands. Then a long, slow rebuild back. Relevance in 6-9 years.

Do not make a hire right now out of desperation. I know it sucks BUT PEOPLE HAVE SHORT MEMORIES. This will pass. The absolute worst thing you can do is make a commitment to someone destined to fail based on this mess that will be forgotten in 6 months.

Fulmer Interim and don’t do anything stupid in the meantime.

Idiots

Siap

This might be it

@volsrevolt

This is what I’m talking about. Sunday was just the beginning. It’s time to go all out and end the Haslams once and for all. Everyone needs to go read this and get pumped.

I’ve been saying it all week: Sunday showed the kind of power this fan base has. If we unite we will win. It starts with forcing attendance to plummet and more public protests. It’s time to #TakeBackTheHill

No good coach is going to come here knowing the Haslams run the football program instead of letting the HC.

It's been 10 years of this BS and by reading your post you are part of the problem.

But Garry Patterson wanted to come here?
Lane Kiffin came here....

I 110% agree we need a disciplinarian. So where the hell did Pruitt go and a candidate???

You don't have to be a thin skinned azzhole to be a disciplinarian. That seems to be the attraction for Currie and Haslam.

Give me Pruitt all day over Doreen and Schiano. He actually has a good mix of dickhead and player love.

A Morris, Hobby, Brooks combo makes the most sense at this point, that's why I'm convinced it's not going to happen.

Doeren wouldn't be a remote possibility with a competent administration.

Right. We're talking about the same administration, or AD and Haslam, that thought Schiano was a good idea. Nobody is trying to hire either Schiano or Doeren and for some reason we've targeted both. Trying to be the smartest guy in the room.

Yep. It's disgusting that the entire admin had been turning their backs on people like him for over a decade because of one group of rich azzholes. This has to stop.

I agree.

I mean I'm not gonna sit here and say I'm gonna quit watching the Vols bc thats simply not true. No matter the coach I can't help but watch every game. It's part of my life.

But I won't spend a damn penny going to Neyland stadium if I don't like the state of the program. And currently it's worse than it has been during my life.

I bet Doeren makes it no more than 2 seasons. He will get blasted by WVa to start the season and go 3-9. They will beat ETSU, UTEP, and Charlotte and that is it.
