Once Doeren is hired, it's done. No sense picketing against him. He might be a terrible hire, but he didn't do anything other than take a job he was offered.

Bad administrations make bad decisions that lead to bad outcomes. We don't have to like it and we don't have to support it, but it's not Doeren's fault.

Agreed. Best thing to do at that point is leave him alone and not go to games.

We still have to fight it though. Sucks for Doeren but he’s going to be the sacricial lamb. As a fan base we need to say enough is enough. Time to stop giving the university money. Then and only then will they wake uo

Agreed. The more to the story is the WHY. Why do the Haslams insist on having crappy coaches here?

I don't buy that it's simply a control thing or the desire to be the smartest men in the room. You can control very good coaches. Look at Gundy and Pickens.

You can up their salary when you're billionaires, and it's a drop in the bucket. No real sweat off your back. Or just ask for more donations from the lesser boosters. And you can look like a genius if you flaunt the fact that YOUR money pays their salary and that you picked them out, not the AD.

There's something else going on that makes them want to hire crappy coaches. Guys who are set up to fail. The average fan knows these guys are bums and knows that UT could get out of the gutter by spending a little money. But they refuse to do it.

The why has to be than just "they're cheap skates" or they want to hire some puppet.

This is just my opinion but I think the Haslams are getting some sort of kickback and the less money the university spends the more they get

Hmmm.....
They’re caught red handed scheming folks out of money. Maybe they’re scheming the university too? Once a crook always a crook.

IDT Norvell or Morris will talk to us right now. It's like with Frost-- we're down their list. That's not a great feeling, but it's where we're at. Not sure Norvell is someone we'd consider, anyway.

I really think we'd be better served by stepping back and not rushing this hire. This recruiting class is the least of our worries.

Bingo.

They need to pull everybody back and fix this at the top and then start over.

At this point (on this track) you re putting the next guy (If you can find him) in a no win and you re doing this in 3 years again with a roster worse than Dooley left.

Nope not his fault.

Not mine either so I’ll not support them with my money.

JAV opening up on 247. Confirms what most of have thought. Currie always has GS as the guy. Tried to sneak it. Currie wouldn’t tender a formal offer to Mullen. Big boosters all went for Gruden. Currie didn’t make contact with Gru.

So why in the he'll is in Raleigh and why have said booster not had a soap and sock party for said Currie/Haslam

Neither do I. I won't give the man my respect or support until he wins consistently and we I know he won't. I've never been against a Tennessee coach but this may be the first one. I'm tired of talking myself into believing in a sub par candidate.

Fireable offenses. My dad always told me that I can't worry about things out of my control. But this pisses me off.

I’ve said this from the start. I don’t believe Gruden was ever offered or even contacted by Currie. I think by saying what he did about Knoxville, Rocky Top, never say never to nothing, Gruden was literally asking for the offer. But Currie never gave it. GS was his guy from the start.

Burn it down.

Do you believe JAV anymore? I’m learning to just gloss over any post from an “insider.”

Probably a bit far fetched but... any chance Gruden wasn’t trolling with his love that song stuff, and that was his way of telling Currie, WTF why haven’t you called me yet.

We can only hope for a stripper named Destiny and Tennessee's version of "it's rollin', baby!"

Plus, they apparently don't know dck about football or football coaches, and for that matter, football fans
