I haven't seen anyone do this. I've seen plenty of rational folks say at least give him a chance before writing him off.

It is an underrated game. We like Sequence too. A friend's brother made her a sequence board with a deck of playing cards that follows a different pattern then the original board. He did an awesome job on it and it makes that game more fun.

We've had some pretty intense games of Pretty Pretty Princess at my house. I play for keeps you know.

yeah, over half the board wanted him gone. He's gone and of course they are pissing and moaning about the coach we are replacing him with who hasn't officially been hired yet. who woulda thunk it?

Not understanding all the Debord hate. Would he be my first choice? Not exactly. But if Butch Jones thinks he's gives Tennessee the best chance to be successful I'm all for it. Jones knows more about football than any of us. I think he will hire the right guy whether a it's Debord or not.

Some recruits get too squirrely at the end of the process to pin it on one thing.

Even if it would matter, I wouldn't make a hire to please a couple recruits. The vast majority of the class seems fine and/or indifferent.

The hire (Debord or otherwise) should be judged in the following years, not the next dozen days.

In don't disagree at all with your post but you specifically asked how this might effect Preston Williams and the other recruits. That's how it could effect other recruits.

I don't hold a grudge against you. I don't even know you. I just think that maybe you are a Mizzou fan now and that's ok. The problem is you are hanging out Vol message board pretending to be a UT fan. I excelled at the athletic activities I choose in high school. I didn't attend traditional college like a lot of folks. I joined the Army, started a family, got my degree slowly but surely, and now, through God's blessings, am very successful at being a Soldier. No. I don't hold a grudge against you for getting a college scholarship to play football. I think it is fantastic that you were able to achieve that goal. I just think you should request the Mods put a badge under your VN screen name that says "Mizzou Fan" so you can finally and truly be yourself. Another thing, when he was in Chicago he was coaching up Greg Olsen, who's a really good TE. In Seattle he was coaching up John Carlson who is also a good TE. Debord has more football knowledge in his left pinky toe than all of us do on VN. Butch would be an idiot to not call him a lot.

Well Dooley's in Dallas coaching up Dez Bryant. Just sayin'.

Adding to my previous post...we are all worried about Tennessee losing commitments if Debord gets hired. If I was a recruit and looked on here or Twitter and seen the hate I would decommit too. Kids will not play for someone their own fanbase trashes.

This is true. It's the fine line between being able to discuss your opinion with other fans, and being afraid of frightening off recruits.

My position is clear. I am not thrilled, if this is the move. But will support whoever it is, and give him every chance to get it done.

We aren't going to lose several recruits no matter who is hired. People forget how good of a recruiter our head coach is for us.

If there's one thing I trust that Butch can handle, it's recruiting. That's one thing you don't have to worry about.

Like everyone else on VN I have no clue about what or how much DeBord knows about football but I'm sure it's more than what we know. He's not even been hired yet.
Let's be respectful to the older generation if you have been raised up to respect them. If not, us FBOWG's have no respect for anything you say.

This is the kind of hire that will bring a ****load of heat on Butch if the offense stumbles out of the gate next year.

Let's just say that we start 2-2 next year with losses to OU & UF, where the defense looks way better than the offense....well, it'll be time to buckle up.

DeBord may be a great guy. He could turn out to be a great OC. But if you don't have questions after looking at his resume, that's just silly. When was the las time he served as an OC? When was the last time he was actually on the recruiting trail? These are important details imo.
