Walked on that glorious Shields-Watkins playing field. Sat in the checkerboards with my 2 year old son. Pet and took a picture with Smokey. Watched some of the all time great VFLs on the sideline, as they watched the young men who will lead the resurgence to glory. Observed from a few rows up as Phil Fulmer walked onto the field with his family in tow, and it took him about 30 minutes to make it 30 yards on the sidelines because he hugged and told stories with every single one of his old players. Again realized how damn lucky we are to have someone like Butch Jones running this program, who loves his players and respects our university. And not a damn drop of this rain we were warned about.

Ice Cube's day wasn't sh!t compared to mine!

GBMFO.

Hell yes

Kamara has the new guy hype but Hurd is the best player on our offense. He's a special special athlete. He's bigger and faster this year. Straight man child at RB.

Sutton has the look of an All-American physically.

Foreman needs to take the No.2 CB spot and run with it. He's a good looking athlete that needs to clean up some things technically.

Moseley didn't impress me much at CB. Seems to play better coming forward than with his back to the ball.

Evan Berry and TKjr will be a monstrous tandem when they get a chance.

Stephen Griffin is an impressive looking athlete. Hope he stays at safety. He could be a big playmaker with his size and speed.

Wolf looks better at TE.

Dobbs looks much much better at QB.

Dormandy will be a star with the weapons he'll have. Very big upside for him here at QB.

Tuttle will be a difference maker at DT.

Appreciate the input, BB.

It's amazing where were come from, as far as depth is concerned, specifically at DB. Gone are the days where we rely on one or two talented DB's are just hope they don't get injured and the others play at an average pace. I forget we have guys like Foreman, Griffin, and Martin who, by most accounts, are as talented, if not more so, than 95% of the stating DB's we've seen over the last 5-7 years. And I haven't even mentioned the DL...

I think we will take a big step forward this year but, 2016 and beyond...I don't say this lightly...we're running with the big boys...and they're going to have to keep up.

The Oklahoma game is going to tell us a lot about where we are this year.

I. Can't. Wait.

Got a silly (but kind of serious) idea to replace the 3rd Down for What special effect.

Since our RBs are calling themselves RUN CMG. For "Chain Moving Gang," why don't we voiceover a 2 Chainz song with his patented "2 Chaaainnz" and edit it to say, every time one of our running backs runs for a 1st down, a quick, loud, burst of "Move the Chaaaains" in his voice?

I really think it could work? Cool story, Brodarious?

I agree on DBs. I remember spring practice in 2012 when the reports were that we basically just had a rabble of guys that were competing and we were just hoping against hope that a few would surprise us. Randolph was about the only sure thing then.

Now our safety position sounds like one of the best on the team. The backups may be better than the starters, and we have a nice third stringer being developed. Corner and nickel still need depth but we have some elite athleticism there.

Fall can't get here soon enough. This team and roster isn't perfect but most teams would kill for what we have.

9-3 is my post Spring prediction. Hard to say who specifically we lose to outside of Bama but I think we will play a bunch of close games and come up short in a few because we aren't quite there yet depth wise.

Could go 11-1, but that would take some Auburn 2013 type finishes to a few games IMO.

7-5 is my floor. Would mean we had some key injuries.

6-6 and worse and I start to lose faith in the coaches. Doubt that happens though. These guys are winners. I'm convinced.

I have been to a lot of spring games and there is only so much you can tell fro seeing one. However, I came away with these thoughts:

Dormady has a great arm. Really wish we had the depth to RS him this year

Hurd is two steps faster

Kamara has great pad level

WRs need to step up. Not worried long term, but there were several dropped passes

Jonathan Johnson will be good for one or two important catches per game

Offensive line looked better, not great. There was only 1 of our top 5 or 6 DLs out there today so it's hard to judge.

Malik Foreman looked really good

Cam Sutton gon blow people up this year.

The TD by wolf would have bee a huge collision in a real game.

We blitzed a lot, especially for a spring game. I think we finally have the secondary to play press man and be exotic with blitzes.

Best secondary depth since? 06 maybe?

Medley nailed a 56 yard kick that would have been good from longer.

How we fell back asswards into Butch jones I do not know, but he has flipped this roster and had a **** eating grin most of the game. He knows he has the horses this year

I really liked what I saw out of Dormady. Good arm and more mobile than expected. Hard to judge on one scrimmage game, but he seems to be a cool customer as well.

Evan Berry will be a star, IMO.

Hurd will be a monster.

The neg...

MLB...Bynum will be surpassed and I hope so.

OL is improved but still a ways to go.

No one is talking about Jennings but I thought he looked a lot better than I was afraid he would. His athleticism is clearly top notch. With a redshirt year and a couple more years in the program to work on mechanics and QB intangibles, I could see him being a very dynamic QB for us.

Dormady looks like he can really deal the Rock and Gitmo has one of the best films I have ever seen for a DT QB. The competition for that spot in 2017 will be fierce and we haven't even seen Sheriron yet!

I see no way JJ stays at QB. He's a tremendous athlete but with QD, SJ, and Guarantano to get through to start, I'm headed to the coaches today asking for a move to D. Start the transition sooner rather than later IMHO.

One simple thought after yesterday...if teams and fanbases didn't start opening their eyes and respecting us a little bit after the end of last year, then they will after this year. This team will be a handful for any and everyone that they play this year.

Question about numbers (volssam gon Leb)...

Do we need to cut anyone else for all the scholly numbers to work out this fall?

Oh and somewhere in Berkeley, Vic Wharton must feel like he jumped the gun with his transfer. He would've had a great opportunity to win some PT this year with all the injuries at his position this spring.

He's a serial quitter. He doesn't care.

we def didnt look too bad yesterday. Pretty well played spring game. Its crazy that we are gonna have about 15-20 important players coming back into the fold in Fall Camp. Barnett, Obrien, Maggitt, Vereen, Gaulden, Mcneil, North,Blanc, Croom, Jackson,Ellis, Saulsberry, Phillips, RDA IV and so forth. There will be a couple newcomers that come out of nowhere just like they have the past couple seasons. Its gonna be fun. It will truly be a completely different team.
