I don't hate the Mariota pick. I would have preferred the Titans trade down to get 2 first rounders this year and one next year to really rebuild. Lord knows they need it.

Mariota at least injects some excitement into this franchise and will sell some tickets and win some games with his style of play. He will end up being a much better first round QB than the last one the Titans took, but that's not saying much.

I am very worried that the MM pick could be the catalyst that eventually sees the Titans franchise in a new city. The attendance was horrible last year and if there isn't some serious improvement it could spiral even further down this year. I hope I am wrong because I love having an NFL franchise in middle Tennessee.

Guys, it's just a thought. No need to be so harsh. I think Derek Dooley showed a lot of promise in his third year here honestly. Also, Mariota to Titans! I think he resembles a sleeker, sexier, Doug Flutie with his style of play. Thoughts?

Mariota has been underrated and/or written off his entire life. He's a hard worker and he did more than anyone ever expected. He'll probably play with a chip on his shoulder too as he's representing all the hopes and dreams of a a very small Island and that matters. It's a mistake, imo, to think he's less than Winston (he's shyness/low profile has hurt him withe perception). I've already posted on his positive so I'll skip that.

While I respect the hell out of y'all, this is a case where not really following the Titans all that much helps give a more objective opinions (at least in my opinion and I've been known to be wrong). *IF* Mariota rejuvenates I dying program I'll be thrilled and happy to watch them more but right now they are boooooring and turrruble. A change is needed, imo.

Oh and yes, he has a LOT to work on but the NFL allows that to happen more than college. His potential is higher than he's being given credit for.

TIFWIW, But that and my prior post summarizes my opinion on him.

You don't spend the number 2 overall pick on a guy you hope can come in and win the starting job. You either take an instant starter at a position of need or you trade down. The Eagles offered Fletcher Cox, Mychal Kendricks, Brandon Boykin, a 3rd round pick, and more for the 2nd pick and we turned it down. That's just a dumb move by the Titans. Taking Mariota is not gonna build this team. Taking that trade with Philly would.

P.S. I'm also a huge Cowboys fan so seeing the Eagles sell the farm for one player would've been great.
