I hate the Cowboys with a passion. If they had a salary cap back when they were relevant they wouldn't have been near as good. Sorry had to rant.

Wat? If not for the salary cap that was implemented in the mid-90's, Dallas would've dominated the league in a way that had never been seen in the NFL. Those teams were loaded due to great drafting.

Likely talking about Dallas signing the lsu olineman w a first round grade

Great pickup and coat them nothing

It was the kid whose xgirlfiend got killed so teams were scared and didn't draft him but apparently he had no involvement

Thanks. I'd heard the fetus she was carrying tested negative for his DNA (aka wasn't his baby) but I didn't know if that was the final clearance teams were looking for. I understand why teams were wary of the situation since police say all the time so and so isn't a suspect but then something is discovered or said and suddenly they become one.

The loss of life is horrific. And for him personally, it's obviously a terrible situation to have happen not just financially (with his talent plus an FA contract he'll probably be able to renegotiate for his 2nd contract sooner than others and might even end up better off than many who were drafted) but also emotionally. Regardless of whether or not she was an ex, he probably still cared about her and having someone you cared about, even after a relationship is over, suddenly murdered has to be hard. Add in being under suspicion because you're the ex and she's pregnant and it all happening as you're trying to start your career and that's a lot for anyone to cope with.

Definitely a tough ordeal. I heard that he passed a polygraph and the police officially ruled him out as a suspect. Bad timing and sad situation.

Went back and watched the spring game. About to go watch the Gator bowl too. It's a long time until the season guys..

Romo showed how good of a QB he was last year with the help of the running game. You can't expect to win in the NFL just on throwing the ball, and even Brady and Manning have had solid rushing attacks. Additionally, their defense was so bad they were having to catch up. Sure, Romo choked a few games away in his career, but the criticism against him was overblown. One "catch" away last year from playing Seattle in the NFCC, against a team they had beaten.

That defense wasn't going to stop us. Kill that noise. Dallas will lose again because of that defense.

Lady Vols upset LSU at their home stadium in the SEC softball tournament 7-5. Advance to the semi-finals tomorrow to play top seed Florida. I know this team is young but my lord they're clutch.

Marinelli cobbled that D together out of nothing last year...now they added a cover corner and two pass rushers. Might not want to count on other teams staying the same or going backwards.

Seeing a lot of people falling all over themselves praising the White to UF hire. I just don't see it. His resume is no better than the rest of the "pretty good at a mid major before flaming out in the big leagues" SEC coaches in recent history.

He might be great, but jeez. It's Florida. They could have done better. I would be pissed if we had their recent history and hired a guy who has never made the tournament.

Was my thoughts as well. Hopefully, he does as well as another La Tech coach that we all know and...well, let's just leave it at that.

It isn't football. They couldn't do better. They were both fortunate and lucky to have Billy D.

I've had my share of frustration with the Cowboys, Tony Romo, and Jerry Jones. But I am absolutely thrilled with this draft class and I honestly believe that it will help Romo and Witten win themselves a super bowl before they retire. That being said, "How bout them Cowboys?"

Couple VQ War Room notes....

-The anticipation for the debut of Nike for UT is getting bigger. They plan to reveal all uniforms at midnight on July 1st. They also have it set up where you should be able to buy merchandise and gear starting at 12:01 a.m.

-As you may imagine, Josh Dobbs will represent UT and attend the Manning Passing Academy.

-Butch and Jon Gruden have grown to be good friends. A genuine friendship. Looks like Gruden will be back on Rocky Top in the Summer.

-There are 2 key elements for Von Pearson. Grades and whether there are pressed charges. Von is still enrolled for the Summer and Fall semesters. There is optimism that Von will finish strong in the classroom. And if charges are not pressed against Von, there's also optimism there that he could re-join the team.

-Butch is adamant that he doesn't want his staff to get complacent in the Summer months. He's challenged them to begin prepping for the Fall with the current roster players as well as the new comers that will arrive on June 1st. Butch doesn't want the hype to get to this team.

-As for the summer workouts, look for Debord and the Vols to implement a half-line pass skeleton drill. There will be very minimal 7on7 work. Oftentimes in the past, there has been injuries, and now Butch believes UT doesn't have the depth to do that this Summer. This is a Summer format that UT and Ohio State coaches have discussed.

-Preston Williams is in town starting the mini term. Justin Martin's transcripts were not able to be processed in time. So he'll have to wait until June 1st. There's no red flags or anything like that with Martin, just bad timing.

-Lastly, Will Jumper, Colton Jumper's brother will be a 2015 walk on.

Update on one that Butch and staff passed on - Poona Ford. The Hilton Head area paper said he had a strong spring practice and will likely make it into the 2 deep rotation at DT at Texas. He played some snaps in 9 games last season. Obviously not to the level of what we've got, but still a good DT.
