I get what you morons are saying regarding Butch leaving but I've been around long enough to know what happens.

Butch continues to improve the team and 10 wins become the norm. We have one nemesis that we can't seem to get over.
fan expectations continue to rise and as with CPF 10 wins is no longer good enough without a natty.
Other teams that can pay good money that might be down or replacing a coach that left for greener pasture comes calling.
Our AD doesn't step up to the plate and Butch takes another job.

May never come to fruition but it's not out of the realm either. Butch may retire here but it's unusual for a coach to stay at one place for that long anymore.

If Butch does what we believe he is about to do, there will be no other place in college football that would be more attractive. Fanbase, tradition, facilities, location... He has it all if he wins

Yep. And we like to keep a coach for a while. Butch could ride this job as long as he wants if he is successful.

It's interesting how 80% of rival fans honestly think Butch is an awful coach. Not just average. But truly awful. I've seen him ranked 13th, just ahead of Mason, on a few random lists. Somehow even Mark Stoops gets the benefit of the doubt ahead of him, and McElwain is apparently a consensus pick as a much better coach than Jones.

Contrary to the talk I'm hearing. A lot of fans are kinda scared of us right now.

The online peeps will be taught a lesson this season. UT will not be a pushover team. We will hit teams back in the mouth. We are not skeered.

Depends on where you look, I guess. reddit's CFB has a somewhat favorable view on the Vols, as do the UK and South Carolina boards. Every other SEC message board, especially the Rant, seems to view UT as permanent bottom-dwellers.

The way the fanbase has embraced Butch makes me think he will never leave voluntarily. He's like peak Fulmer combined with Bruce Pearl. Almost a cult of personality influence on the program now. You can see it in recruiting, too. Every elite kid we're in on talks about Jones and how big of an influence he is on his decision. I don't know how he does it but the guy is a phenomenal recruiter who goes beyond just selling the program.

2016 Top NFL Top 50 Draft Prospects

Sutton #23 CB#3

Sutton has been a starter since day one in Knoxville. In fact, he has started in all 25 games he has played for the Vols. Sutton has recorded 76 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, 25 passes defended, and four interceptions over his Tennessee career. This is a cornerback with outstanding size, instincts, and ball skills. He has above average speed and very good quickness. Sutton is just a sound player all the way around.

North #34 WR #5

As the Vols offense matures and grows up so to should North and his numbers… if he can stay healthy. North has all the physical tools to warrant a spot this high in the coming draft if he can stay on the field. He has size, good speed and soft hands. North is exactly the big target at this position that the NFL covets. He missed the final three games last year with a shoulder injury. North should be ready for a breakout 2015 season.

Butch wouldn't be as smart as I think he is if he took an NFL job. For multiple reasons, he's a much better fit in college. His particular skills as a coach (recruiting, marketing, branding, outreach) would essentially be wasted on paid professionals and a pro fanbase.

I think this is a homer statement. If he is very successful here, then why not jump to the league. More money, less time away from family which is huge if you are recruiting in the SEC.

That's why Joe Gibbs and Dick Vermeil got out of the NFL the first time? Too much family time?

Just ran through a lot of rival forums.

A lot of folks saying Arkansas will destroy everyone this year & That Botch "Butch" will go 5-6 and not make a bowl game.

The only good pub we are getting is from ESPN .
