Cannot make myself care about the NFL or NBA any more. They are bloated, hyped caricatures of what they used to be in my book. I can handle about 2 minutes of an NBA game with 6 guys standing around outside while a two on two happens with grabbing, hacking and shoving - nah. Same with the NFL, although I watch it a little longer before becoming bored or sleepy. Rules about rules to make sure those rules are followed while guys on offense tackle defensive guys and if anybody breathes on the chosen there is a flag thrown. Mercenaries for hire in both sports with no real team allegiance by ownership, coaches, or players. Not my idea of entertainment any more. The only team pro sport I care about is MLB and most on here would rather watch paint dry than see even an inning of that.

Even with collegiate sports becoming more money hungry, it is still the best deal around IMO. When UT versus UA or UF in football; or UT versus UK in basketball ceases to interest me I will know it is time to move to the retirement home for regular bingo parties. What am I saying, I even love UT versus Austin Peay.

Wow! A kindred spirit... who knew. :hi:

Grandson will begin classes at Austin Peay in the fall, so I may be torn when UT plays them...

HA... NOT!

Sandals Whitehouse

Awesome, that's where we were!

We lived at the French Pool bar. Germaine, Kevin and the other guys there are awesome.

And the all night bakery plus the pizzas at lunch were probably responsible for 3 or 4 extra pounds on me.

If some of you guys don't think Hurd will break some long runs this year, I don't know what to tell you, but it's coming.

On the Texas stuff...

Rob and I have been working this one today/afternoon and obviously Texas has issued a statement. In that statement, Texas said Rick Barnes had no knowledge of any possible wrong doing. It's my understanding that Texas coaches have very little interaction directly with academics on anything outside of class attendence. I don't get the feeling that there's much worry from Tennessee's view of things. Obviously we will keep working the allegation and see what we can find if there is anything to it at all. Right now there doesn't appear to be much there.
