Arkansas has a much smaller margin for error than we do. Their offense is built around slow, methodical drives that wear defenses down, but our offense can score in a hurry.

My guess is that Butch is going to tell Jancek to be as aggressive as possible to try and force some turnovers. Limit their number of possessions and time of possession, even if it means giving up a big play every once in a while.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see some trick plays, maybe even a surprise onside kick to steal a possession. With the offense we have going up against their somewhat depleted defense, we can afford to gamble a bit and make some mistakes. They don't really have any choice but to pound the rock over and over...and if that stops working, they're done.

I'll wait to see Arkys defense this year before claiming they have arrived. They lost a lot of key guys on defense. Defense was what made them so competitive last year.

I like Arkys offense but I lIke our defense in that game. Likely it'll be a tight game. I'll give us the edge due to home field advantage.

Vandy baseball just beat Cal State Fullerton (Serrano's old school) in the CWS on a walk-off homerun.

Tim Corbin is seriously the best hire Vandy's AD has made since Dan McGugin. He's definitely a top 5 college baseball coach, IMO.

You know its fate on your side when you can't handle the SP of CSF and are getting shut out for nearly 6 innings and then the lightning and rain hit. What a comeback. Amazing program.

Everytime Arkansas is mentioned you fill your litterbox...you've actually downgraded from bemoaning how much they run over us to possible margin of victory FOR US...so that's progress? :dunno: They have a proven offensive line and a questionable defensive line...opposite for us. We've out recruited them consistently...even when Dooley was coach ...so I think we're better.

In the little snippet that was written about him over on TOS, it was stated that Tennessee had made up some surprising ground, but the usual suspects (Georgia, Alabama, and Auburn) were still out in front.

I haven't really followed his recruitment as closely as others, but if you get him on campus anything can happen. Plus if we have a breakout season, like we hope, and Mackenzie and Tuttle are standouts on the line, then I think our chances go up.

2) Austin Smith is shredded like an upperclassman and working in the Maggit role.

3) Sapp is athletic and very impressive. Over 200#. Working with OLB.

4) Vincent Perry is looking good and will probably carve a role out in the return game.

5) No glaring weaknesses out of the summer enrollees. IOW, everyone looks to make an impact down the road and wasn't a "mistake" to sign.
