I'm looking to go to my first Braves game this summer. Does anyone have any tips or advice like where's a good place to sit? Good place to park?

Night games there's not too many bad seats. I'd stay out of the nosebleeds, especially in the corners near the foul pole (though being field level there is cheap and fun). My favorite seats are sections 106-118 high enough up that I can get some shade as the game goes on. Have fun!

Well, you are not a recruit. Recruits, not being the:

type, really like Nike and the anticipation factor of it. Like it or not:

I wish I was as cool as Clint.

But to your point, there are plenty of other schools that rock Nike gear so I am highly doubtful it will be a deciding factor in whether we get good players or not.

What it is "actually" about is Nike selling product. Which, estimating by many of the saps on this board that are salivating over these teaser videos, they will do plenty of. Just remember that every time you click on one of the teasers you are simply watching a Nike commercial -- just like those things on tv you try to avoid like the plague. And each time you watch you get one step closer to spending your beer money on a new set of sneaks or a t-shirt that were made in China for a tiny fraction of what you are spending.

So, my advice is this: 1. quit wasting your time watching Nike commercials. 2. Spend your beer money on beer. 3. Don't worry about recruits choosing Tennessee because of the brand of shoes they will wear.

Ok? But now we're not on the Adidas side? If it was a deciding factor BEFORE we've evened it out somewhat. Good point Nike rocks! :yess:

Adidas schools get great players too. So do under armour schools. I'm saying it's not a deciding factor regardless of which of those 3 a school rocks. At least not in football... Maybe more so for basketball.

Not a deciding factor, but certainly a contributing factor for many.

It is part of the big picture, and the more hype you can add, the better

I admire and agree with your advice for the most-part. However, during this transition to said Nike gear, it can and should be used as a recruiting tool. Hence the anticipatory commercials and such. Any hype is good hype for an athletic department and especially when branding Volunteer Football. Next year, I completely agree with you. But right now, this is really cool to recruits and several have mentioned this in interviews. Don't question what Butch and Co. are doing in marketing. They are much better at selling and branding than you or I are. These commercials and teasers are NOT meant for you. I thought this should be obvious, but it appears by your lack of humor over the issue that it is not. It is fairly well-ascribed to that Nike makes better gear for football and is preferred by most who play the game or even follow it closely. If you don't believe me, start a poll in the Football Forum Adidas Vs. Nike gear and see what happens. Now, please, stop being self-centered. This isn't about you. :hi:

I'm saying we don't know what the tiebreaker between schools was or is...having the most popular brand on our plus side can't hurt. And I bet it does more than that. :)

I think you are still missing the point. It's not about me, you, coach Jones and co., recruits or Tennessee -- at least not specifically. It's all about advertising and making money for Nike. They are hyping their product so that people buy them. They don't waste money filming adverts so that a 17 year old kid may choose a school. They film ads so that overhyped vol fan will be first in line 7.1.15 to blow his beer money on Nike gear...which brings me back to my earlier point: spend your beer money on beer!

OK? You must really hate commercials. Companies advertise. That's kind of the way it is. I don't see any reason to get bent out of shape over it.

Also it comes off as pretty self-important when you try and dictate to people what they should and shouldn't be excited about.

Anyway - rant over. I'll go back to my rocking chair and sip my bourbon and yell at the dang kids in my yard checking out my gran Turino

I am excited to see what the new uniforms will look like!

I feel I fully demonstrated my ability to understand your point. I just think it's dumb. You are still being self-centered and not thinking big-picture for the PRESENT. You still think this is about the fans. While yes they want the fans to know, this is MUCH more about recruiting and something new and flashy for the program. It's called marketing. Branding. You think the average overhyped (because most of us are) fans give a crap about Nike Vs. Adidas in our daily lives and taking our beer money? Once again, I believe you are thinking of yourself here. I can choose to buy beer or shoes on my own man.
