I fully expect to be competing for SEC titles with the group of young men that we've brought in over the last couple of classes. I just hope guys like Maggitt get an opportunity to experience some of the glory that is to come, Lord knows they deserve it.

That OU game is really starting to remind me of the 2006 cal game. Marshawn talked some ish and now perine is talking ish. We are about to show the whole country that UT football is back that day when we kick OU's a** 52-14!

I dunno. I think some people are just wired that way. Butch seems to be one.

Look at Saban. He's been going pedal to the metal since at least 1995 when he took over Michigan State and he's 63 now.

Urban Meyer is another guy who is utterly consumed with winning and shows no signs of slowing down. Butch strikes me as someone who has the same drive and dedication as those two.

Sometimes, Urban's "heart condition" slows him down, especially when the future is looking a little bleak.

I thought, during the last recruitment cycle, one of the possible knocks on Preston was his speed??

Rivals excuse for being only dummies that didn't have him as a top WR. He dominated every game and camp even in front of them and they still said that crap

A good coach will be good for about a decade, give or take, and then the law of diminishing returns tends to kick in. There is too much work, too much pressure, too much of everything to be otherwise. And, a lot of coaches tend not to evolve with the game. They want to stick with what they've done to be successful, and so don't much like change. If you have a crack staff, and/or play in a weak conference as B.Bowden did with the fla. state in the ACC, you can have success for a longer period of time, but it's hard. Fulmer burned out, big-time--but he also let his staff get stale, and then chose the wrong guy to be offensive coordinator, which really was the beginning of the end. You need to recruit well and you need to have really good coordinators: Two requisites for success.

If Richmond can contribute this fall it will be a huge plus.

really want P Williams to play this year. We desperately need some playmakers at WR to step up

2) Tennessee (Derek Barnett, Curt Maggitt)
Tennessee will have the best DE tag team in the nation for the upcoming year, with freshman sensation Derek Barnett coming back for year two, and Curt Maggitt looking to finish his career in Knoxville with a bang. Both would normally draw double teams, but you just can’t leave yourself open in the middle by doing that, especially with incoming freshmen Shy Tuttle and Khalil McKenzie at DT. If those two can come on quickly on the inside, and the group avoids injuries, this might not just be the best defensive front in the SEC, but the best outside of the NFL, where all four should be playing one day.

There was good progress as a team last year, but nothing like we are going to see this season. Even the incoming freshmen are much more ready to play. They buy into getting prepared with their S&C when they sign on or else they know they will be left behind. Playing for Butch is not for the lazy or the faint of heart.

Good times...

Those dummies were trying to make him have a weakness. When it's clear in his highlight videos he's running away from top notch Georgia HS talent.

Yessir. Biggest knock was "committed to Tennessee"

They just didn't love him. He is elite in every category.

242. Sheesh.

And I love hearing the top-end speed talk.

Will p-willy be suited up for fall?

its good that jalen bulked up so much bc hes going to lose quite a bit during camp. i imagine he will play around 230-235. Thats pretty scary.
