Like I said a while back, DeBord has some really good ideas and getting Hurd/AK on the field at the same time is probably his best. Also, while the offense is essentially CBJ's, look for DeBord to try and make the passing game a little more vertical than the horizontal one that Bakakian used.

Vertical passing game? YES, PLEASE!!!

If he does that, and can call plays effectively he'll be a complete upgrade from Bajakian.

No doubt. I will say in fairness to Jake our deficiencies on the OL as well as Worley not being able to operate well behind that line dictated all those horizontal passes. Things were different the year before when we had a better line and they were different last year after Dobbs became QB and defenses had to respect the run which in turn gave us the space needed to throw downfield.

I mean, there's still going to be a very healthy diet of jet sweeps and short passes because the entire offense is predicated off of the read option But I believe DeBord will attack down the field and across the middle a lot more than Bajakian ever did.

MB just does not like like to do those things for whatever reason although he was hamstrung a bit by the fact that Worley was just not a good medium to long range passer. Nothing changed in his play calling when Dobbs took the reigns though.

I disagree that nothing changed - Bama, SC, UK, IOWA etc we definitely got more vertical.

SIAP. Didn't go back any pages. #24 in Phil Steele's preseason Top 25.

All I gotta say to that is:

Across the middle is key.. Then that'll open up the vertical attack. Using the middle of the field will be great for the TE's, too. When the safeties start cheating toward the middle, then that'll open up the WR's for more one on one's. Something I've been wanting to see for the past couple

Can't wait for a shotgun set where you can run Hurd as a lead blocker for Kamara, Hurd up the gut, or North/Pearson breaking free on a perfect throw from Dobbs. Then having to deal with our defense (if they live up to potential). And to top it off we're wearing NIKE.

Just seems too good to be true at this point..

Thanks for the explanation. Hopefully, I can avoid a shot. But if I have to I'll commandeer the team medical staff. :)

I did the same thing about 4 years ago
Tweaked my knee chasing down a baseball. It would swell every time after stairs.
Suspected small meniscus tear... Gave it a month. On call one weekend, it was really starting to hurt. Dropped by my office and gave myself a steroid shot (I am very good at injections :) )
The steroid calmed down the swelling allowing the tear to reattach
Has not bothered me since...
:salute:

Apparently the civil suit against Winston has some details that the TPD couldn't find or chose not to pursue that could be pretty bad.

BaseVols drop another to UK.

Serrano seems to be a horrible hire.

He's not a horrible hire. He's a proven winner that's taken two different programs to Omaha. Sure, we aren't as far along as Serrano or fans had hoped but I believe he will get it done. His track record says he will.
