Really? Honestly haven't looked, but that seems high. That will have to come down significantly

He such a savvy runner and rarely gets tackled. I hate to limit it but he's yet to go through an entire season. You're right that has to come down.

Cumulatively, he will run a farther distance, Lottery. Pay attention.

Serious answer:

Kamara is just a more fluid runner and equally powerful in the lower body as Hurd. Solid hands will yield more catches out of the backfield. They rode Hurd hard last year and certainly won't rely on him as heavily unless he just is pissed off for greatness that day. Add to that Dobbs probably won't carry the ball 20-25 times a game like last year.

Just not seeing it, man.

They utilized Hurd a lot in the passing game; I can't see them doing that even more with AK. I think their carries are split up almost even, and I don't think AK will out gain Hurd by that much.

Hurd going for 1300+ this year if he stays healthy.

My hope is he has his breakout season of 1,400 as a junior after Kamara blows it up this year. Then he bolts for the NFL. I'd like for him to have something to prove that Junior year. That will be our best team in a long time too.

Hurd is a great receiver. It's going to be fun to watch it play out. I bet one or the other will have the hot hand different weeks.

He would have had around 1,050 had he stayed healthy against UTC and Vandy, and that's not counting that he likely would have had more than his 4.7 ypc season average against those two defenses.

With the way the OL played in the first half of the season, a lesser back would have had an absolutely abysmal ypc--probably 4.0 or less. Hurd was met at the line of scrimmage so many times but fell forward for extra yards. If the OL can get any kind of push, he will clear 1,000 easily, even with Kamara getting his fair share of carries.

CONCLUSION: we have three potential 1,000 yard rushers in the backfield. Not all at once but maybe two of those three.

Boom!

Nah Hurd is an elite RB. You'll see this year. He's Zeke Elliot good if not better. He does some crazy cuts for a 6'3 guy. Being able to jump cut at his size is flat out crazy. :)

Half of them were from protection breaking down, and him running for his life. Other QB's would have incompletions or sacks in the place of positive rushes in that area

Yep, and a good portion of the others I think were him not seeing the field that well. Remember he asked for a RS and by all accounts wasn't even preparing or trying to start. He left se passing yards out there but I expect that to drastically change this year with an entire year of practice under his belt.

Sean Taylor, Ed Reed, Jonathan Vilma, and D.J. Williams would have eaten Tommie Frazier's lunch, smacked him in the mouth, and insulted his mama and all Frazier would have just said "oh...sorry I hurt your hand with my face" and kept on walking, eyes to the ground.

Not to mention the offense...

Nebraska smacked everybody in the mouth. Miami actually had a couple tough games.

1,400 would be a top 3 season all time.

Even 1,300 would be good enough for 5th best.

If he stays healthy, Hurd could be our top rusher off all time, yards wide. I think he's that talented and I think this offense will give him that chance. Will be fun to watch what happens.

All he would need is back to back 1,100 yard seasons. Totally possible.

Strong freshman season is the key there, and he certainly had enough to make a run at it, if he sticks around to repeat as National Champions in 2017

He's got a mobile QB to take pressure off him in the running game. Imagine Jamal Lewis in the spread. He would've went ballistic.

I think he's good enough to produce that much. Just not sure there will be enough carries to get there.

Getting to ATL and having an extra game wouldn't hurt. :)

While in Knox for my orientation yesterday, I might have spent ~$150 on some new Nike gear. This potential gear might also be fresh to death.

Hurd is extremely good, but the kool-aid is pretty thick. With our current OL, he may break the 1000 mark. Kamara good for 700 more.

Be more realistic and you won't be hurt and depressed like last year!

8-4 this year, 10-2 next.

Yeah I watched that OL roll up 190 yards rushing on Bama. I'm not calming a thing down about Hurd's numbers........

Yep. one of Kamara or Hurd are gona have the hot hand each week. Competing with one another. And just imagine when they are both in a zone on the same day, yards in chunks all day.

He rushed for 899 last year and missed two games. Unless Kamara is the next Barry Sanders and takes all his carries, he's going over 1,000 in 2015 with ease.
