spurrier was on the defense the entire time. That speaks volumes. Dudes been talking and not doing enough coaching the last yr or so. Taking jabs at UT and he still hasnt beaten Jones lol. Arkansas would kick their ass too.

I think South Carolina is going back to being South Carolina for a while.

vs UNC (in Charlotte) September 3rd
vs Kentucky September 12th
at Georgia September 19th
vs Central Florida September 26th
at Missouri October 3rd
vs LSU October 10th
vs Vanderbilt October 17th
Bye October 24th
at Texas A&M October 31st
at Tennessee November 7th
vs Florida November 14th
vs The Citadel November 21st
vs Clemson November 28th

South Carolina may have 8 or 9 losses this year.

That's a brutal schedule.

I think they beat UNC, UK, UCF, Vandy, Florida, and the Citadel to go 6-6, but the margin for error to make a bowl is pretty thin.

Spurrier loves talking trash about us.
And so it begins RT @JoshatTheState: Steve Spurrier: "There are people in Knoxville and Fayetteville still doing cartwheels over going 7-6."

Brett McMurphy
@McMurphyESPN

Spurrier: "We were 7-6, same as Tennessee & Arkansas. We were doing cart wheels & high-fiving after that Independence Bowl game"

Steve Spurrier has taken the podium and said South Carolina's 7-6 record was the same as Arkansas and Tennessee and they were celebrating 15m

Spurrier is smart. He's getting his shots in while he still can. He knows from here out we gon whip they azx

Yeah it doesn't look to good. They better hope it was a serious coaching problem and not a Jimmy/Joe problem because they didn't add very many immediate impact kids in their recruiting class.

I believe it was 2014 that had that problem and then 2015 he was an idiot and told media he would be around 2 more yrs and saw his really good class go bye bye

Doubt Spurrier cares much about the Gamecocks' future. I think if he goes 6-6 or worse this year, he's done. And that's the most likely record for them...and it's not necessarily because they will be a bad team. They just have a really tough schedule, as three of their non-conference games are either toss-ups (UNC, UCF) or likely losses (Clemson).

Oh yea, that's right they had assembled a top ten class and then it up and vanished like a fart in the wind.

Edit: just checked they had the 19 overall class. 30 commits, 11-4 stars, still pretty good

It was going to be a lot better than that until he made that comment. Losing Key to LSU was a dagger

Doh. Ask me to name a molecular compound and more than likely I can. Ask me to spell a normally used word in the english language and I need the entire time of the testing period to get it wrong.:mf_surrender:

You work with those? Man, be careful. That dihydrogen monoxide kills so many people every year.

Yes sir. And to think that stuff does a good number on metallic substances like iron....must be very bad for the body. California better hurry up and outlaw the use of it.

Joe Schad @schadjoe
"Butch Jones says Tennessee has a long way to go, too many unproven areas dependent upon freshmen."

There's your we're young excuse.

DOBBS: Coach DeBord has created a lot of new ideas and brings a lot to the program. It's exciting to work with him & this coaching staff.

He's right though. We still lack depth and one of the biggest selling points to recruits is early playing time.

Year 3, 18 returning starters. Its time to start stepping up to the plate with some confidence.

I'd like to see him go Rick Flair up there, start whooooing, kick the podium over, slap a reporter, and yell Go Vols B!tch! just 4 inches from the camera before walking out.

If it weren't for such high praise generated by the media, whom, mind you, is primarily doing this to cater to our fanatical mindset, Butch wouldn't have to provide caveats to diminish the lofty expectations.

His "excuses"are directly correlated to the behavior of us, the fans. It's our fault. Don't blame Butch.
