By police investigation, I assume that entails the KPD eating doughnuts and spilling coffee on the dossier, because there's no way in hell any actual work is being done.

If KPD can't establish probable cause to obtain a warrant, then the investigation could be stalled permanently. If there is no reasonable expectation of charges forthcoming-- and KPD refuses to close the investigation-- Butch could choose to reinstate Von for fall camp, based on insufficient evidence that a crime was committed.

Of course it's speculation. No one is trying to pass it on as fact. No one has inside details from the KPD on Von's case. This is from a comment made from Brent Hubbs and we are speculating on what might happen.
