I don't know if it's really that overrated a division. Bama may not have a good secondary, quarterback, or much running back depth, but Saban is still gonna get wins. Auburn will definitely be a contender. And LSU has too much top talent not to win some close games. Fournette will take over a game or two.

The other four are more questionable. Miss State loses so many starters on both sides of the ball, but they played a TON of backups in their rotation last year. I'd still say they're probably last, even with Prescott back. Arkansas defense will not be close to last year's production. Teams that can stop the run, or contain it even, will give them fits. Ole Miss has a great defense, but they've got a head case in Kelly at QB, and no running game at all. And A&M has the worst secondary in the SEC I think. Not much of a run game. But they can score a lot of points. Chavis is gonna have to slow the bleeding on D.

All that to say, I think if you moved any of these 7 to the East, they'd finish top 4. Not sure that's changing any time soon. Vols are rising to the elite, and Georgia will be good with or without Richt as long as they have that in-state talent. Florida may even get good again soon, but South Carolina is going to fall hard after Spurrier leaves, Kentucky is borderline bowl team each year, Missouri can't recruit to maintain contender status, and Vandy... well, y'all know.

Great analysis! :good!:

I get that Lawson is really good but he should be 2nd team behind Garrett and Barnett. If you compare all 3 as freshman, Lawson didn't do anything like them. Now he is coming off an ACL.

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a very specific high end golf shaft. Anybody know a good place or person that can save me a lot of money? The shaft I'm looking at new is about $300. Hoping to get $150 (which is out there on ebay, but the only ones I've seen are already fit for a specific brand of driver).

Let me know if you can help. Thanks!

Didn't Barnett have better freshman numbers than Clowney? No first team for Barnett and Hurd left off completely is just plain stupid.

As good as Hurd is, there are so many good backs in this league and I'm not sure he earned a spot compared to them based on last year. Going by that same logic though: No way on earth are Sutton and Barnett not 1st team. Lawson and Garrett over Barnett? Boy stop.

The Media is always in love with Bama, Auburn, and Florida players. Never fails.

he earned a spot more thank Kenyan Drake who doesn't start for his own team

Specific tips for specific driver heads are just glued on using epoxy. A good club repair person would be able to tell you if they can just remove the tip (say Taylor Made for example) and replace it with one for a Cobra. They might have to trim the tip a bit to get it the correct length you want, so getting one that is a bit longer might be a good idea.

Yes any club builder can get the adaptor to that brand off no problem. But the catch is saving that adaptor. Taylormade for example uses a lot of cheap materials and usually you cannot save the adaptor they use. I had really good success saving Callaway, Titleist and Cobra adaptors no problem.

Yes GolfWRX is a fantastic site, it's one of the only places I am aware of that companies like Taylormade and Callaway look at fans comments and provide feedback on there as well. Their classified section is great too so you can buy there and not worry about being screwed.

NOTE: if anyone tells you to cut the tip of the shaft, take your club and run. Cutting at the tip of the shaft stiffens the club, that X will be come an XX stiff in a hurry. Always cut from the butt of the shaft. I worked on clubs all through college so I wouldn't lie to you. Hope this helps.

Hate to keep the off topic stuff going...but fall practice doesn't start for a couple of weeks and....

Have you tested this shaft on a launch monitor against other shafts? Or are you just trying to replace an existing shaft?

A good club fitter would try to fit you with many different shafts on a launch monitor to find the best one for your swing. Might be a good option before you shell out a lot of money. You might be surprised there are some great shafts for a lot less money than the big names.

It's amazing how quickly Butch Jones has become the face of Tennessee football. How many other coaches are on that level in terms of name recognition with their program? The only guys who have achieved it are those who have have either coached a very long time or have had a lot of success or both.
