Ah missed that post. Still the way everything was described I worried about far more than a broken nose, jaw, etc.

It's getting bad. Too many kids that don't respect their elders. They feel like Kings with no consequences to their actions until they find themselves dead or in prison. It's like kids aren't taught anymore that there is a barrier you don't cross.
The broken eye socket could be the worst part. I know this from experience. I had both eye sockets broken at the same time, along with both sides of my jaw, the roof of my mouth and had my nasal/sinuses crushed. I had to wait a week for the swelling to go down before they could do surgery.
BB sounds like you experienced VERY similar injuries.
What you described is what we refer to as a "floating face".

lol....That is exactly what it was (may have been named because of me). The doctor told me after surgery that he could literally hold my head still and move the center of my face. the only thing holding it there was skin and muscle.
Fine Doctor at Vanderbilt put me back together. 7 titanium plates, 2 pieces of titanium mesh and 50 titanium screws holding my head together now.
BB could you tell me if you suffered any TBI along with your injuries? It sounds like you had one heck of an experience.

That happened seven years ago.
To this day the inside of my head feels like it is burning, but I have no feeling on the outside. My eyes constantly feel like....I guess the best way to describe it would be.....Like I have a sinus infection. Went from having better than perfect vision to wearing trifocals. My jaw always hurts and my sinus passage is screwed.
On the bright side.....a couple of years ago I had a student come out of left field on the side of head with a solid punch. He about pissed himself when I didn't go down. I didn't feel it. Unfortunately for him, I'm a retired Marine and not quite as nice as the Riverdale Coach. He was an adult, and got his ass beat like one.

You know that metal plate in my head? I had to have it replaced, cause every time Catherine revved up the microwave I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for a half hour or so. So over at the VA they had to replace it with plastic. It ain't as strong so I don't know if I should go sailin down no hill with nothing between the ground and my brains but a piece of government plastic.
