Why can't star athletes just find a girl to do it with? I went to UT...I know there are plenty of cleat chasers who would willing hop in bed with athletes. Why resort to rape (allegedly)?

You'd have thought watching aj lose millions of dollars just a few months ago would scare anyone on the team from putting themselves in a situation where they might get accused.

Still have Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara, North, Pig, Smith, Wolf, Malone, P Willy. Not worried at all about the O. Maybe RDA can run the jet sweep in Von's absence.
Sorry Croomster you too big guy

Am I the only one who thinks players shouldn't be suspended until they are proven guilty? Because this is just too easy to ruin someone's life. I mean they are going to get what they deserve when convicted guilty anyway. But, if they are innocent, their life is ruined now.

There is a special place in Hell for a rapist, but this is just too easy to cry rape and screw someone up.

Not saying this is the case and I hope he rots if he did rape her.

They need to put a big sign in locker room that says" hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"

I was honestly shocked to hear that it was Von. Thinking back to four years ago, he was flipping burgers at McDonald's and got the opportunity to play football at a JUCO school. Then, he got the opportunity of a lifetime to continue playing football in the best conference in the country. And, with a very good year this fall, he could have the opportunity to continue at the next level. It is hard for me to believe that he would screw that up. What an idiot, if he did!

The thing I disagree with is why suspend a player before he is proven guilty. If he's guilty then by all means he deserves the forth coming punishment. But until he is proven guilty why punish him.In the out side world you don't have to quit your job just because some one alleges you committed a crime. You have a day in court to prove innocence or guilt.I don't agree with the immediate suspension.

Screw the millions of dollars. You could lose your freedom and put yourself in line for a rape.

Disagree. The coaches constantly preach making sound decisions, specifically by not placing yourself in bad situations.

Coleman Thomas was immediately suspended then brought back once he was exonerated. If the same goes with Pearson, so will he.

Tough but fair...nothing wrong with that.

But this won't likely be resolved so quickly. The guilty until proven innocent crowd is showing their faces in here

I guess my problem is we don't know all the facts that Butch knows so I guess we have to trust him.I hope for all party's concerned that the worst thing that happened was he exposed him self to her.I think she can get over that and hopefully if true Von might have learned a valuable lesson.

Can't let him even participate in practice while this is in question...if you do you're pulling a Jimbo Fisher...he got a NC and one loss in two seasons out of it but has taken a beating for it. We have posters trying to fire Butch for not being God as is. :glare:

I think a rape case should he the exception to the immediate suspension. Because it's all her word vs his. So an investigation should be conducted before suspension. But like the Coleman case, he spawned something wit his id. So that is enough proof to suspend immediately. All the immediate suspension does is make it easier to get revenge for being tossed to side for another girl

Price you pay for letting a suspected rapist play for you isn't worth it... Just ain't.

Yea. I get that. Just think it isn't fair for those who get falsely accused. But that's how the world works. I feel bad for him if he's innocent, but if he's guilty, I hope bubba shows him the same courtesy he showed that girl

Don't disagree with the fairness aspect...this is just crappy reality.

I think also it's unfair to the team and program not to suspend him. Knoxville would be a circus tomorrow if he were out there returning kicks in the spring game.

Yep, it would be a huge distraction and even more of a focal point for the media than it already is. I'm sure Butch wants to keep this from getting to the recruits in for visits as much as possible.

Why would a girl cry rape on a TN football player?

A. It could because it actually happened.
B. It could be that she is very angry at the person and wants to ruin his life
C. it could be that she wants money from a successful football player
