Quick question, did we run ANY PLAY ACTION PASSES? ...

No which is stupid. Overall I can't complain about the ground and pound game plan because it was working. Overall Debord did fine. i would have ran a play action roll out on that 3rd down and 7 toward end of game. Gators were selling out on the QB draw play we ran about every 3rd down.

Butch has so many elite potential qualities which make ls it all the more disappointing to see that he can't make decisions on the fly without a chart. You won't win in this league if your coaching from paper. Paper doesn't know your team. Shame on him for not knowing his team was capable of this after it already had happened multiple times in past 2 yrs including just 2 wks ago. You have to protect your players and he left them out to dry on their way to failure. His needs to hire a math consultant because majority of stats he spews out from his chart are proven false more times than not

As long as we are offering Butch pointers tonight: I don't think he should ride the referees so hard during the game. I think it only alienates them. I am not complaining about the time out to correct the one spot, but the way he will wander out onto the field to make a point. Not a lot of coaches are doing that.

Spurrier was on David Feherty's show on the Golf Channel and brought this up. Said he doesn't argue with refs much now but sees other guys doing it. Said he believes it helps him get more calls in the 4th quarter because the refs tend to get pissed off at the guy who is cussing them out all night.

Another in a long list of head-scratchers is Marquez North's regression. We don't even try to throw at him anymore. Who am I kidding? We don't throw to any of our playmakers.

Gus Malzahn and Will Muschamp are doing it. Auburn should be winning games based on talent alone regardless of QB problems. Especially against a depleted team like MSU.

We're definitely not alone in that boat. Auburn, USCe, Arkansas, Mizzou - all of them look putrid.

I disagree.
The team has leaders. Hurd , Dobbs, JRM & Cam are definite leaders on an off the field.

They can't however right a rudderless ship.
They can't coach and play

I have to imagine that Maggitt's presence has definitely been missed on the field.

Butch's chart and analytics gobbledegook is almost as bad as Mason's "paper" he found at the beginning of the season. It's all nonsense.

Well, the second season starts next week with Arkansas. At the very least, it says something about how this team has been rebuilt that it starts week 5 and not in the latter half of October.

Our defense has speed, but it seems to lack physicality. Tuttle had some good plays but I think the SEC gauntlet is going to be difficult. The defense is not glaringly deficient. The offense will need more explosiveness to succeed.

I think most likely coaches to move on at end of year include Azzani and Mahoney. Butch gonna be under fire and will be forced to make some changes.

The difference between CBJ and Dooley is that Dooley tried to surround himself with good staffers and gave them some autonomy. He made mistakes and some bad hires (Sunseri), but he was open to new things and new people and he was willing to make changes.

CBJ is an autocrat. He hires staffers who are basically subservient yes men and refuses to listen to new ideas or try new things, even when it's clear that his way could use improvement. DeBord is a good example. CBJ could have seized the opportunity to hire a brilliant offensive mind, but instead, he hired his stodgy ex-boss, because he would be a subservient, compliant yes man who wouldn't challenge CBJ's autonomy or try to upgrade his musty old playbook.

Hire the best people you can find and let them do their jobs. Good coaches do this, but Butch never will. He thinks his way is the only way and that nobody can improve his system. We're seeing the results of his closed-minded thinking.

Hurd should have a big game next week. Other than that, I have no confidence in anything related to our game with Arkansas other than our coaching staff finding a new way to lose to a less talented team.

He needs to fire those two and DeBord. Hire Bowling Green's WR coach, Sam Pittman, and the OC from any non traditional power team with a top 15 offense.

Arky wins next wk IMO. Beliema bit the bullet for his guys at his PC. Took all the blame and didn't blame a stupid chart.

I agree, I think we'll be very lucky to beat Mizzou, Vandy, SC, and KY. Those with a win against NTX puts us at 7-5. A one game improvment over last year with no wins over a significant team.

Spot on. We live and die by Butch. It's him or bust. And right now it's a lot of bust.

Can we start with the guy who was working as an "Olympic sports administrator" last year? Nepotism at its finest.

This team could be something special if Butch gave free reign to a competent OC.

If we can beat Arkansas and finish 8-4, I'd be happy with just an overhaul of the offensive staff. If we do worse, then I'm thinking bigger changes.

Edit: sadly, I think even 7-5 would mean is keeping our staff mostly in tact and waiting for the end of 2016 to make any meaningful changes.
