Yeah he would struggle early because he is left crap that is prob worse than what Dooley left Butch. If I was Riley I would wait for a better job to open up. Riley is a guy that could win with less offensively. I don't know who he would hire defensively and if he is ready to be a HC though. It could be similar to Kliff at Tx Tech and better for him to wait on a Big 12 or pac 12 job

Top 5 plays of the season:

5. TK's INT against Vandy. Killed all their momentum, eliminated the threat of them scoring before halftime, and sealed up the game for us.

4. Dobbs to Malone 75-yard TD pass. Wiped out all of UK's momentum.

3. Jennings to Dobbs against UF. Didn't get the W but it was an amazing play.

2. Foreman stripping Jerell Adams of the ball against USC. We finally had a late 4th quarter catastrophe play out in our favor.

1. Trevor Daniel's coffin corner punt against UGA. Seeing how easily they drove the field, if they had to go only 75 yards instead of 99 they probably score and we go to OT.

OR

1. Dobbs to Josh Smith against UGA to make it 24-10.

Good post.

I think I might would replace 5 and 3 with:

- Randolph's batting away Lambert's pass on the last play of the UGA game.

-And the Dobbs-to-smith 4th down TD before half in the UGA game.

Yeah, you could make a case for Daniel's punt, Dobbs to Smith, and Randolph batting away the pass as all being the play of the year. It only took three of them to beat UGA!

Some are saying USCe will hire Muschamp. Auburn 247 said he contacted Clemson co-OC to be his OC and someone else said Ellis Jonson as DC. We'll see.

To me, this play right here was the pivot point for the UT football program. Hopefully in a year or two when our players are celebrating in Atlanta, that is the play we will look back on in a few years and say that is where the march back to the top started.

Muschamp accepted then turned down our job after looking at the lack of talent/depth on our roster.

Not as picky these days.

Yep. Without it I don't know if we make a bowl game this year. Not sure Butch can keep the team together through that last 5-game stretch.

Word was it was more about the environment of our players off the field activities but yes he longer can be picky for sure

@joshnewberg247: I'm told to keep an eye on Vols asstnt Willie Martinez for UM DC job. Coached at UGA & was roommates w/ Richt at UM

No idea why we assume this would be an upgrade

A very very inexperienced coach taking the place of one that has a long lengthy resume of Bigtime experience with very high level players

Seems like a risk to me unless we are blinded Because he is a VFL
