He's made a ton of progression but still misses wide open receivers regularly? I think he's exactly as inaccurate as he has been, he wasn't THAT bad to start out here that even after tons of progression he's still missing several per game.

His efficiency and stats were way up last year from his freshman year. While some of his stats are a little down this year from last, he's also played all the tough opponents. His efficiency is still barely lower.

Last fall he was missing receivers in drills--badly. He's progressed. Yes, we'd all like it to be more, but it's there. You can certainly argue it's not enough. I'm just saying it's at least noticeable.

His TD to INT ratio is way down this year. He protects the ball through the air. That caution can affect your accuracy as well. I wish he'd two-hand it more in traffic when running though.

This isn't really an either/or argument. The possibility of Fair replacing Martinez only comes into play if Martinez VOLUNTARILY takes another job. My personal opinion (among other) that Fair will technically improve our DBs will have no effect on WM's resume. I'm not hiring anyone. :hi:

No, I get it. I just wouldn't be one to celebrate Martinez leaving even if the next guy is a better teacher of technique. I'm not saying you're doing that, but some VN members have a habit of the practice. Martinez would be tough to replace with all his experience.

Yep can't hate a man for a promotion. It would be interesting to watch the Richt/Martinez combo again. They had a lot of success at UGA for awhile. Martinez is a no brainer to try and get on the staff in some way for Richt with S Fla connections.

We prob would def give Fair a strong look. Strong recruiter and is familiar with our scheme. I noticed talk that he wasn't on field coach. That is true in games but he was in booth in games and able to work with them in practice. If Butch hires Fair then we should feel comfortable that Butch has obviously seen something in him in action.

I was just pointing out that Fair hasn't had time to gain the experience that Martinez has. Heck, Fair could be a much better position coach, but there's no arguing who has the longer coaching resume. That's all.

Being in Atlanta post Richt has been amazing. Georgia fans having all manner of buyers (or firers) remorse now with the Richt / Miami storyline. Sports talk radio is fabulous!

Best would be if that Washington QB (Eason?) who gets a ton of discussion down here decommits and goes to Miami and helps Richt win a natty. Would be epic!!!

I think you mean he helps Richt get to a title game where he then loses to the Vols...

Fans would make Sherman's March look like a neighborhood bicycle parade.

Ok so far the offseason is going pretty well...

If only we could get saban to leave bama. And bama, in turn, to then hire McElwain away from Florida.

So if you guys actually took the USC HC job and you had to pick your staff from VN and VN only, who would you take at what position?

Volatil for ST and BreakerBoy for DB just seems obvious. VFL34 as RB. OrangeVenom as recruiting coordinator

OC- Nicksjuzunk
OL - Thatsmyboy
QB - VolinArizona
RB - VFL34
WR -
TE -
DC - LWSVol
DL -
LB - De1Conley
DB - Breakerboy
ST - Volatil
Recruiting Coordinator - OrangeVenom

AV_12 WR coach

I4Jay DL

I'd like to see Jones get a win over Saban before Saban moves on. Who know's what the future holds.

Someone in the FF started a thread about Shy Tuttle because of a tweet that said ....."decisions". Smh. The sky should start to fall over there any second now.

Same dude who started the thread that we wouldn't win out the regular season because we only had an 80% chance of doing so...better listen to him. :)

Shy Tuttle thread sounds like something Bruin would do...On another note I am really liking this Richt to Miami thing. I am going to love seeing him bend Florida over. I hope he takes a bunch of the Dawg recruits with him. This is fun to watch. UGA and UF both getting gutted by one move. What a mess.

Fair enough. I'll trust your judgement on practice vids from years ago, because I'm certainly not going to try to find them haha.

Speaking of practice vids, the ones from this year has S Jones throwing the best balls of the group. Excited to see of he pans out.

Regarding position coaches and staff Butch has done a pretty great job of looking past brand name or situational failures and hired on competency. I was damn skeptical of Jancek, Martinez, and Debord because of their past. Thry aren't the end all be all at their jobs but we have a very functional and complimemtary staff with limited ego issues. That is very underrated.

Look at Jancek at most he was CO-DC. Then Butch gets Martinez to work under the guy who he was over and who took part of his job. He got former mentor Debord to essentially cosign his offense but with enough wrinkles to make it noticeably different. That's pretty deft leadership IMO.

Surely Shy wouldn't leave- he was doing awesome until his injury. But in all seriousness, I do hate when players tweet something like that knowing followers will freak out (as they have in replies to him) and he says nothing in response.

And nearly every single response was about transfering

Makes me hate twitter

Bruin showed up in there right away.

There are things I question Butch on but one of them is not failure to plan or prepare. Be it staff or recruiting hiccups. He has done those as gracefully as anyone I have seen.
