This is so absurd. Dormady ain't Dobbs with his runs, but he is not at all slow nor is he a statue like you keep purporting. Dude is a naturally gifted passer with a great deep ball and with great touch on all of his passes. He throws an extremely catchable ball and is accurate. He is more than capable of running this offense.

You didn't watch him running versus a slow Northwestern defense. He's got an arm but he's not mobile at all. Looks like he's struggling running. I'd have no argument in a pro style but he's not a good fit at all in this offense.

Accuracy issues as bad as Dobbs? Is he as capable of a horror show, as Dobbs' game against SC?

"Must didn't" :). So Dobbs can't throw because of selected moments in games, albeit in much more substantial playing time? Gotcha. :thumbsup: Pick and choose pick and choose...repeat as necessary.

Plus we've never seen him play a game. He could be all world in practice but when the lights come on he could fold or just not be a gamer.

i was just saying he isn't perfect either. He is my pick for who i want to see as well. I was just saying Dormady isn't hot trash just because JG looks really good. Brice loves him some JG but has still said Dormady is the best passer we have. JG has the most tools, biggest arm and best legs. In the camps JG was the best looking QB in drills and on air but he did have struggles with accuracy when a defense was thrown into it.

None of us are really going to know what either can fully do until spring game or game 1 next year. Dormady hasn't gotten enough consisten reps to throw the ball. It's hard to gauge the run when everyone knows he is handing off in 4th qtr of garbage time

Think the search has narrowed but not concluded. Also even if new people in place, they would have balls of stone to come right in and fire the football coach at UT.

Glad this is only a hypothetical. We are going to win out and play in ATLANTA!

My fear is a lack of a qb coach will hurt JGs development. Dobbs hasnt progressed as much as I thought he would and who knows if it's cause of the player, lack of coaching, or a combination of both.

I've watched every snap he has taken. He is mobile and can throw the ball very well on the move. He's not Lamar Jackson, but he doesn't have to be.

All that being said, I think this offense is hot garbage, so I'm not sure anyone can really run it very well.

I agree we win out and make it to ATL. Just hope they don't fall back into their routine of start slow and finish fast. With our decimated depth on the DL could prove to be a tough mountain to climb if we have trouble stopping people.

The problem with Dobbs not running is teams don't respect his ability to throw. if Dormady were to hit some big throws then run game would be fine

Didn't butch have a couple qbs at cincy similar to Dormady who is a better passer but just ok runner?

Yeah we will have a full time guy next year but it's probably Sheridan. I only think it's been an issue on Gameday to have someone sitting there with him showing him things. I have read elsewhere that Dobbs has too many cooks on the kitchen teaching him conflicting mechanics. Staff has to re-train some things back into the RPO offense. He is just so mechanical sitting in pocket. He is better on the run and loose so he just plays natural.

I think JG would be fine regardless. He looks more smooth
