Do you think Kirk at 75% without playing hardly any football this year would help or hurt as opposed to rolling with Jumper at 100% that has played ok most of the year?

Kirkland will be back to 100% or very close to it by South Carolina. He is the "Alpha" according the Shoop. With JRM and Sutton out, we need him, his physicality, his speed, his leadership and his presence.

That's the problem I see and I can understand is that next year, many of these players that played Saturday will be asked to contribute next year, many in a prominent role. I'm not sure I have any level of confidence we are in a better position to compete with Bama that we were the last couple of years. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think we've closed the gap on Bama much at all over the last couple of years. If you look at the people we have missing, most wouldn't have been here next year anyway. Here's the list and forgive me if I've missed anyone:

Defense

JRM -Gone
Sutton - Gone
Danny O'brien Gone
Kirkland - Back
Martin - Back (Not Starting)
Sapp - Back (not Starting)
KMac - Back (Not Starting)
Forman - Gone

Offense

Wiseman - Gone
Hall - Back
Robertson - Back
Kendrick - Back
Jones - Back
Thomas - Back

Keep in mind that the injuries on the offensive side are to O-lineman that were much maligned all season.

(For the life of me I can't understand why Austin Sanders can't see the field.)

If you look at the players (major contributors) that are not hurt, that will either be out of eligibility or are likely entering the draft:

Barnett
Hurd
Kamara
Dobbs
Vereen

I see the gap between Alabama and Tennessee widening. Don't see the stars on the roster to replace the ones leaving other than a couple.

Kelly has shown flashes, and we we will add Chandler. The WR's stay the same.

The OL can certainly improve if healthy. Tatum and Richmond won't get worse.

The DL will basically be the same up the middle, and we will need Phillips and Kongbo to improve as ends. The LB's will be fine, and we have no idea about Sapp because he hasn't played there yet.

We do need the CB's to improve.

But, it's not any different than any other year. Players leave and new ones emerge. That's college athletics. Alabama will lose at least 5 of their front 7 and Eddie Jackson. Their 5 star depth will fill in, but I have never heard of their backups. They will emerge just like our guys will.

I hope he's close to 100%. You never know how serious his injury was especially with Butch and with reports of him reinjuring/tweaking it last week just hope its not worse than what we're lead to believe.

This will be our 3rd time in less than 2 years. We love it and is worth every penny. We are DVC members now. If you can't go there and enjoy yourself, and especially the reaction of your kids or grandkids meeting their favorite characters, then you truly are miserable.

VH, not directing this at you...unless you are one of those people. :)

He is one of "those people".

Last week he was applauding Chad Kelly for taking the field in that highschool football scuff.

Kamara's thread in FF now saying he is out for the year with meniscus tear- 74 confirmed he had heard it was unlikely Kamara returns this year. Who said he would likely return for the last 2 games?

Plus I didn't say he would stay five years but I just think Jumper has came together nicely with the current defense and has filled in great. With how we are dropping like flies I wouldn't want to see Kirk play one play get hurt again. I think we would still go 10-2 without kirk.

I think jumper and Kirkland are going to both start at USCe

Hurd got mad that Alvin was the fan favorite so he hired jumper to tear AKs ligaments. This team is corrupt yall.

I think he returns to show that the aTm game wasn't a fluke

It is all still speculation. The guess this morning came from Fortenberry on The Zone.

With all this injuries, think it's a combination of factors.

New SC program and new staff.
Different preparation approach for this past Fall practice.
Plain bad luck.
That piss poor schedule (past 4 weeks without a bye in between)
Training staff questionable decisions(Hurd back in with a concussion/Kamara back in with an injured knee)and who knows what else.
Getting behind early in all the games, starters having to play most/whole game without rest.

Butch needs to do thorough evaluation of the program. This is year 4 for him.

Yes I also think Berry is better than McDowell. McDowell was awful agaisnt Georgia and A&M. Jumper has played outside before

Yeah he made a couple of tackles, but you don't think Berry was awful against Bama? Their entire backfield is still running I think.

Unreal...Florida continues to catch all the breaks, and we can't catch any.

What in the world kind of deal did Fulmer make with The Shadowman in '98???

We got lucky a few times early in the year, my friend. LOL Hail Mary, missed extra point, missed field goal, etc.
I do know what you are saying though.
