I talked to an OU fan while I was at Disney last week and he was very complimentary of UT. He said he was at the game last year and was blown away by the stadium and just how loud it actually was. He also said many OU fans think Bob may be out at the end of the year so that may be another high profile coach looking for a spot to land over the off season.

Maybe Bob can take over for his brother at KY?

LSU got Miles from Oklahoma State. Maybe they'll take Bob from Oklahoma?

Would Bob really want to come to the SEC after all his smack talk about the conference? I'm sure a few million dollars would help all sides hug and sing koombya. As long as he can beat Alabama on the regular I wouldn't mind seeing Bob at LSU.

Probably already answered, but the facemask would have been assessed and the net gain would have been less than where we were when the hold occurred. The facemask was early in the return before he broke free and got down the sideline. I do agree with you that there should have been some sort of foul on the tackle. He almost ended kicking Berry in the face with the way he brought him down.

Edit: I assume that they didn't assess the facemask at the end of the run or the end of the markoff for the hold because it was a live ball foul, but I am not sure that I understand that, either. I wish that I would have heard Rocky Goode's segment on the Sports Animal this week. I honestly believe that he probably would have explained it very well.

I think that if we accepted the facemask, the penalties would have offset, and they would have re-kicked. We like the end result even with the holding applied against us, so we went with that.

Correct. We would have had to rekick if we accepted instead of getting the ball at the 35.

Good stuff, doc. Thanks for the info.

Observation from fall camp practice (very hot day) - no mandatory fluid breaks during drills/scrimmage sessions over two 45+ minute periods. Fluids are available, but there were next to no players that stopped to get any as they moved between drills/scrimmage sessions over the period. One good 15-20 minute sit-down break with fluids in the shade.

Probably not much to draw any conclusions.

One thing to consider is that our players don't get cramps as often as other teams. I think the strict dietary plans account for their needs very well. They talked about some of the planning during the really hot Florida game.

we were beat up and bama played a great game kindve like louisville did vs fsu. we get to rest and return a bunch of guys, we will win out. go hogs vs florida.

We are not beating AL this season unless Hurts goes down...

I disagree. Hurts is not a great passer and doesn't make great decisions under pressure. We would need our DEs to play disciplined, and we would need good LB play. It also wouldn't hurt if our CBs could get off blocks. But making Hurts one dimensional by keeping him in the pocket would limit their offense tremendously.

I agree. Couldn't figure out why we didn't seem to load the box, at least see if he can beat us with his arm.

I agree about Hurts but I think Kiffin is a good enough OC to keep him out of trouble against anything other than an elite defense.

And I don't think we've had that at any point this season.

I am not trying to be sarcastic, but Hurts ate our lunch last weekend on his own. What you just described that would need to happen, didn't happen at all, as you can see in the score, and I highly doubt in a matter of a month or so, we all of a sudden fix and execute everything you described. I do think with most of our guys back, especially LBs and O line, this game will look completely different, but we simply do not have the horses overall to take them out. We would need to play a perfect game, Dobbs would have to ACTUALLY RUN all night, and they would have to make several mistakes and turn the ball over... we then would have to capitalize on those turnovers and turn them into points. I don't have any doubt we will finish 10-2, give Bama a better game and a scare, then go to a nice bowl game and win that... But there are few, if any teams in the country at this point in the season who have the depth and what it takes to beat them.... Buk Fama!!

I said it earlier, but Dan Enos at arky is a great example of how to make do with a crappy OL, even without a mobile qb like Dobbs. I'd love to see some adjustments from our offense when personnel don't fit or one unit doesn't have the talent or isn't performing. Worley running the read option was insane, and this year with our bad OL play we just keep doing the same things instead of scheming around their bad play.

This is what I assumed after someone explained that the one penalty was against Tennessee. Weird to decline a penalty in that fashion, but it made sense.

On another note, you mentioned to another poster that they had made an "InVOLuntary type post". What did you mean by that?

youd think if we get to atlanta that butch would pull all stops including turning dobbs loose. get him murdered last week and we probably dont even get there much less come close to beating them.

With so many big name programs hiring a coach this off season, I really think firing Stoops would be a dumb move on their part.

One to watch for 2019 AL QB Bo Nix. 4-star on Scout.

Said he went to a game a couple weeks ago and likes Tennessee's atmosphere and tradition.

Recruiting notes: Nix is the son of Patrick Nix, a former Auburn quarterback who is now his head coach. He has offers from Cincinnati, Florida State, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi and Tennessee. He has visited Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee so far out of the schools that have offered him. When his father played, Jimbo Fisher, the head coach in Tallahassee (Fla.) coached him at Auburn, and when his father was coaching at Georgia Tech, the Nix family became close friends with Florida State defensive coordinator, Charles Kelly's family. Now Bo's sister is attending Auburn University.

strong wants to run a pro style and big 12 is a gimmick offense league, lsu is a much better fit especially given his ties to the south
