I agree with you on Georgia. Why does everyone think that because they have a new coach they are going to be great. I just don't think their new coach is going to be as good as most people seem to predict. Remember when Muschamp was at Texas and everyone thought it was the end of the world we did not get him? Then when he went to Florida everyone was positive he was a can't miss coach. It seems most assistants that leave Saban do not reach a high level of success.

There is probably a big difference between defensive coordinator at Bama than being the main man at Georgia! All it takes is to stumble a little bit and their fans will begin to worry that maybe Richt wasn't all that bad after all. I really think we are going to see him struggle some this year.

This is one reason i'm not stressing about the recruiting so far. Stevens and a lot of the others recruits in Tennessee will get to see us have a great year and Georgia and Florida maybe having a down year. GBO

There's like a 10% chance that Kirby Smart will be better than Mark Richt. You don't just replace a guy who wins 10 games a year like clockwork and expect to improve on a consistent basis.

If the Lady Vols play Sunday like they have the last two games, they will be going to the Final Four.

We can't get too far ahead of ourselves, but with how things transpired tonight, their path to the title game could not be any better. Unbelievable how that bracket looks.

Dobbs 4 Heisman - Vanderbilt might finish 2nd in the east.

I was watching a practice video earlier and I really thought #55 on defense jumped out to me as somebody who looked really explosive and quick. I couldn't figure out who it was in my head.

Figured out that its Quay Picou. Almost forgot about him. Another potential gem from that 15 class.

#90 on defense looked big and quick too. Wasn't sure who that was either. Turns out it's Charles Folger and he's a redshirt senior. Could be a surprise depth guy that finds his way on the field at some point. Great size.

Will be interesting to see if there are some wild cards on this defense that emerge that we arent really thinking much about.

Read good things about Brett Kendrick today as well. The competition on the offensive line is going to be fascinating to watch up until the season starts. I have a feeling there won't be any starters named there until game week.

Jashon and C. Thomas are the only sure things. Maybe Chance Hall. Boulware, Kendrick, Wiesman, Jack Jones, Big Charles, Drew Richmond and Blair (maybe?) all fighting for the other 2 spots.

Smart hasn't done a thing without his old man Saban.

Well that was basically the point I was trying to make. He definitely can and will use that in recruiting right now (he'd be crazy not to). But if he can't get UGA to be successful and that remains his only recruiting pitch, he'l run out of steam quickly.

I'm hoping Picou can put things together and be able to contribute this year, but I'm thinking it will be another year for him.

247 had a good article on him recently where Stripling talked about him in depth. Basically said that his size makes him more limited than other DTs, but that he has the burst and explosion to be a really effective change of pace/sub DT. He said that this spring he's had some plays on film where his technique is great and he uses that burst really well to give OL headaches. But that he's also had some times where his technique gets a little sloppy and he gets taken out of things because of it. Basically, because of his size, he's got to have great technique to make good use of his athletic tools.

It sounded promising, but not quite like he was expected to make a very big push for playing time quite yet.

UGA schedule. I'm saying 4 possibly 5 losses

I don't think you are giving UGA enough credit. Tennessee definitely should be the favorite in the SEC East & UGA should have a down-team this season, but I don't see anyway UGA manages to lose 4 or 5 games. That schedule is an absolute joke. Once again.

I personally am really on predicting 3 possible losses. I consider Tennessee & Ole Miss as expected loses for UGA. I also predict they will lose to UNC in the season opener, but I'm not too certain of that. It will basically be a home game for UGA. The only other game that I would even consider a swing-game for UGA would be Florida. I expect UGA to beat UF because UF lost quit a bit of players & UF has a horrible QB situation.

The other two OOC games against Nicholls State & UL Lafayette are guaranteed wins. Missouri, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, & Kentucky should all be wins for UGA. Those other SEC East teams are absolutely terrible & UGA still has an extremely talented roster.

I suppose there is a slight chance that UGA could lose to Auburn and/or Georgia Tech, but I wouldn't count on it. UGA has the better team & plays both games at their home field. Auburn will be better than last season, but is still ultimately not nearly as good as they have been.

I really don't think Georgia will be a great team in 2016. Tennessee is clearly the most talented team in the SEC East. UGA has a roster that would normally go about 7-5 in the SEC, but this year is different. Pretty much every single team in the SEC East is down except for Tennessee & their schedule is a joke. UGA doesn't have to worry about playing Alabama or LSU. I think with all that taken into account, UGA will still manage to go 9-3 or even 10-2. As much as I hate to say that. Chubb will most likely come back & will still be a better RB at half-health than almost every RB in the nation. Even if Chubb can't play, Sony Michel has proven he is an All-SEC type talent. Isaiah McKenzie is always reliable to produce a few punt return touchdowns. Eason & Hardman are talented, 5* prospects that will play. The defense is littered with 5* talents. Trenton Thompson at DT is a stud.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't see UGA having a bad season. I don't see UGA losing anymore than 3 games. We will see.

I'd be surprised if UNC beats UGA week one, personally. But then again I don't know a whole lot about what UNC is returning from last season. Their loss to a QB-less Baylor really sticks in my mind though.

😂

I guess y'all don't understand the meaning of the word MIGHT.

Oh well here's my defense anyways:

(1) Vanderbilt finished 4th last year.
(2) The east is terrible.
(3) Georgia and Florida have tons of question marks.
(4) They nearly beat Florida on the road last year and played Georgia tough as well.

I'm not saying it'll happen. Georgia is officially my pick to finish second and Florida third.

But crazier things have happened.

Holly has finally let them play the run style the roster demands. Mercedes is really coming on. Good pressure on the ball. As long as she lets them play this way they could be in the FF.

The Ohio State matchup was a perfect one for this team. They love to run and go fast pace, as well as play man defense, so it really played right into our hands. Sunday's matchup scares me...Syracuse will play zone the entire game. We all know what happens when this team sees a zone...it's not pretty.
